Program #19033RJ
13 Days | 12 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Active
Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
Love to learn in a small-group setting? This collection of programs has at most 10-24 participants.
See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

I am on the Sept 4 trip to Anghor Wat. Anyone who has taken this trip, do you know what the tipping policy is for the tour guides, hotels, etc?
Louetta Schwab Aug 29, 2014 at 01:27 PM

RS covers hotels, etc. We did tip the 3 tour guides and I believe the ship's crew.
Louetta Schwab Aug 29, 2014 at 01:28 PM

Fabulous trip!! Wish I was going back this year.
Judith Hrycak Aug 29, 2014 at 03:19 PM

We left money for housekeepers at hotels plus tour guide & some the service people on the boat.

Rick Davis Aug 27, 2014 at 08:09 AM

Jim and Gerri ... my wife and I are also on the 19th trip. We are from Evanston, IL and like you, this will be our second trip with RS.
Geraldine, my wife is also a swimmer who plans to bring along her swim suit.

Geraldine Davis Aug 26, 2014 at 08:38 PM

Are people bringing bathing suits, or will swimming not be an option?
Kathleen Clarke Aug 26, 2014 at 09:18 PM

Pool at the first hotel so mine is coming. Think I'll need a swim after 12 hours in a coach airline seat!
Saralea Altman Aug 26, 2014 at 10:32 PM

But don't plan on swimming in the river.

Jim and Gerri Schinckle are going on the September 19 trip. We are from Burnsville, MN (suburb of Minneapolis). This is our second RS trip-went to New Zealand and Australia last March. Anxious to meet everyone!!
Geraldine Davis Aug 26, 2014 at 08:38 PM

Nice to know there will be two "Geri's", although I use only 1 "r". Look forward to meeting you also!

Virginia Braski, it appears we are roommates on the Sept 4 trip to Vietnam and Cambodia. I am flying out of San Fran, are you?

Rick Davis Aug 04, 2014 at 02:05 PM

My wife and I are on the Mekong Delta trip beginning September 19. We are leaving from Chicago. Just curious to know who else is on this particular trip?

Rick Davis Jul 30, 2014 at 08:46 AM

My wife and I are taking the Mekong Delta trip in September. You who have already taken this trip, do you advise we convert some American dollars to Dong before leaving the States? If so, how much do you suggest? Any advice you have regarding the Vietnamese currency is welcomed.
Louetta Schwab Jul 30, 2014 at 08:59 AM

No bother to convert here, we had no problems with US dollars.. This may have been our favorite trip so far....we've been on 9 RS trips and 3 with other companies. You will not be in Vietnam very long. Most is Cambodia. While in Saigon, you really should visit the french ice cream parlor. Your guide can help you with directions, we walked. They serve art!!! Enjoy your trip!
Judith Hrycak Jul 30, 2014 at 10:14 AM

I agree with Louetta. Had no problem with US dollar, and also was our best trip yet! we thought we may even want to go again in a few years. So much to see and enjoyed the people in Cambodia, They are so very nice.
