EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

I am on the waiting list for the Sept 2013 departure. I would like to know your opinion of the Tour co-ordinator on the trip. I realize it may not be the same person on each departure, but was the person on top of things and knowledgeable?
Carol Mannchen Apr 29, 2013 at 05:02 PM

When I went in 2011,Sally was the coordinator and Don was the historian. They were both wonderful. I believe she said it was her first trip, and if she has gotten better, I don't see how, except for the bridge incident. If you get a chance, ask them about it. It is a great experience.

Thanks for your reply. I judge a tour by it's group leader. That person(s) makes the difference in a good travel experience.

My wife, Ann, and I have just signed up for the July 29 Lewis & Clark program. We would be interested in chatting with other members of this tour.

My husband, Ron, and I, Bonnie, will be arriving in St. Louis on 9/6. We are staying at the Parkway Hotel until Sunday when we plan to leave for St. Charles. Is anyone on our trip planning an early arrival in St. Louis? If so, do you want to get together to see the brewery, museums, etc.? Let me know. Bonnie Duncan email me: duncan9798@att.net

I took this trip in 2011, and it is a fabulous adventure! It is quite a challenge to live this long out of a suitcase, but the experience is so interesting that it is worth it. Our historian kept us engaged during the entire time. There is free time, usually in the evenings. I just got home from a 9 day trip to South Dakota with another group amd there is no comparison--hours on the bus with nothing to do. I guess it is true that you get what you pay for.

Thanks for the reply! Did you go in Sept or Aug? Did you need any cold weather clothes?

This will be my second adventure with Road Scholar.I'm really looking forward to it. I'l love to hear from anyone who has already been on this Lewis & Clark trip.

I shall be driving from western Tn to St. Louis on July 29. Is there anyone who would like to share a ride?
Bonnie Duncan Aug 30, 2012 at 05:42 PM

Gosh, I just realized that you were taking a previous trip. Sorry! Bonnie Duncan

Carol Mannchen Mar 05, 2011 at 08:14 PM

I am very interested in this trip. I am very recently widowed and grieving, but still hope to be good company by September. Please let me hear from you if you are planning to go. I wanted to go at the time of the Centennial, but did not manage it. Now, I am in the process of retiring and able.
Bonnie Duncan Aug 30, 2012 at 05:43 PM

Carol, I'm looking forward to meeting you. Bonnie Duncan
