ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

I took this trip a year ago. Loved it! Would go again.

My two bits of advise: don't bring lace-up shoes (too much effort to remove and lace as many venues prohibit shoes), don't eat anything off the menu without checking with your host (the couple that got sick were former India xpats who ate what had not given them problems in the past and learned that their stomach bio had reverted to developed country status).

All the food offered by the program was fine.

Our group in February 2014 had 10. Quite a comfortable group.

Linda D Oct 18, 2014 at 01:19 AM

I am not going this year. Just curious about group size. Wanted to know upper limit to group number.

Linda D Oct 15, 2014 at 02:14 PM

Hi,
I am traveling solo on the 10/19 trip. Are there other participants out there traveling alone?
alone?
Conice Hensley Aug 29, 2014 at 01:34 PM

Hi Evelyn, I'll be on the trip and don't think i know any of the participants yet. My name is Kriss and i live in Helena, Montana. In June i went to Alaska with RS and soon had 23 instant, wonderful friends ... so I am reluctant to say I'm alone. I am sooooo excited about India! How about you?
Evelyn Isaac Aug 29, 2014 at 03:38 PM

Hi, Kriss,
Evelyn Isaac Aug 29, 2014 at 03:39 PM

Hi, Kriss, Good to hear from you. I , too, am looking forward to this trip. It is my first trip to India.
Conice Hensley Aug 29, 2014 at 03:57 PM

Are you taking the Air India flight from JFK on October 19? Wow, very long flying time to Delhi. I need to get some compression socks. :-)
Evelyn Isaac Sep 06, 2014 at 10:38 AM

Hi,Yes, I am on that flight. Compression socks are a good idea. Are you getting any special shots or taking any specila meds with you?
Conice Hensley Sep 08, 2014 at 04:53 PM

Hi, Kriss,
Evelyn Isaac Sep 19, 2014 at 01:32 PM

Hi, Kriss,I got my typhoid and Hepatitis A shots yesterday and Ihave to pick up the malaria pills. I guess I'm almost ready. I also bought 2 of the books recommended. Now comes the difficult part:deciding what to pack. How are you doing? Regards, Evelyn

Nancy D Aug 24, 2014 at 11:39 AM

Any thoughts on the anti malaria medication ?
Arlene and Lee Taylor Aug 24, 2014 at 05:12 PM

We took this tour in December 2013. This was not mosquito season in Southern India and we did not take anti-malarial medication, unlike Africa where you take medication unconditonally. If you ask your physician they are obliged to advise taking the medication in India, lest you become ill. We think it is necessary when it is necessary, best to bring along antibiotics for GI outbreaks which are more common.
Nancy D Aug 25, 2014 at 11:04 PM

Thanks.
