Does anyone who is going on this trip know if the bikes have cages for water bottles and racks for trunk bags?
Bruce Moskovitz Mar 28, 2014 at 10:41 PM

We biked the trail in May 2014 with our own bikes. Those without their own used the bikes of Shepherd's Spring. Give them a call to determine whether the bikes have cages - I don't believe they had racks for trunk bags. You'll have lots of fun - if it doesn't rain!
Phyllis Duncan Mar 28, 2014 at 11:28 PM

Thanks, I'll do that.

I biked the trail last fall and use a Shepherd's Spring bike. All have water bottle cages and most have racks. Most folks just attached their on bag with a bungie cord. You will not have to carry much since the fan caught up to us frequently. Have a great ride.

I would be interested in hearing from anyone in the Biking the C&O Canal Towpath on Sept 1, 2013 or anyone who has done it in the past.
David Bill Aug 27, 2013 at 03:06 PM

I have never done it, but I'm doing it 9/1/13. Should be interesting! I'm looking forward to it. All my riding has been on the road, so this will be new! I'm driving down from Ct on Sat. C U Sunday! -------- David davidb8857@gmail.com
