See all of our Most Popular programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

hi Nancy..I'm going July 14-19 and you? I got this email from you that said that "it seems I'm too late"?

Nancy Bunge Jun 07, 2013 at 04:20 PM

Hi Livia and Lori,
I'm going, too and looking forward to it. I live in East Lansing, Michigan, but went to school in Madison--and I've been to Philadelphia.
Lori Mueller Jun 09, 2013 at 06:09 PM

what date are you going Nancy? I lived in the U.P. for a while...Rudyard to be exact. We had a bear across the street from our home once. You don't see that in Phila., lots of deer tho'

Livia Asher Apr 24, 2013 at 06:29 PM

I'm doing the Aug 18th trip followed by spending a week with a friend in Jackson. What could be better? Who else is on this trip? I'm from Madison WI

Lori Mueller Apr 14, 2013 at 03:28 PM

Hi! my name is Lori and a resident (native actually) of Philadelphia. Needless to say I'm looking forward to hiking in Yellowstone and interested in finding out who else is going.

Welcome to one of the several UM Western Road Scholar programs. Now in our 35th year, UM Western is proud to offer a wide variety of Road Scholar programs that inspire lifelong learning. As we look forward to our 2013 season, this program along with several of our other programs will offer experiential learning and exploration of the magnificent Yellowstone ecosystem. Come and hike a portion of Yellowstone National Park's 1,200 miles of trails that wind through the park’s 2.2 million acres of spectacular and mostly untouched terrain. Experienced naturalist will lead exploration of the pathways that thread through Yellowstone’s matchless landscape of diverse flora, thermal features, landforms, canyons, cascades and waterways. If you have any questions, please contact us by calling 406-683-7302 or email a_dansie1@ umwestern.edu.
