My friend and I plan to participate in this hike next May 15-20. We're looking into renting a car to go from Bozeman to Gardiner. Anyone interested in joining to split the car rental cost?

Doing the Aug.23-28 Walk on the Wild Side in Yellowstone. What's the advice out there from you vets about trail running shoes vs. hiking boots?

Arriving in Bozeman from Denver 8/16 and catching the shuttle to Gardiner @ 11:30 for Walk on the Wild Side in Yellowstone. Anyone else out there doing the same?

SUSAN AVIRAM Jul 14, 2015 at 10:19 PM

my first trip too, first week in August. Not sure how I'm getting there though
Karen Flewelling Jul 17, 2015 at 08:45 AM

Where do you live? I am flying into Bozeman, then van to Billings.
SUSAN AVIRAM Jul 17, 2015 at 09:22 PM

I live near Cleveland, Ohio. I'm not quite sure yet how I'm getting there and back, will make that decision this weekend.
Karen Flewelling Jul 18, 2015 at 01:54 PM

I am staying an extra night in Bozeman because I could not make my flight if I did not.
SUSAN AVIRAM Jul 19, 2015 at 03:44 PM

booked my flight, in at 11:47 am on Aug 2. The way back I may have to leave early for my 1 pm flight

My husband, John & I are participating in our first Road Scholar program in Yellowstone the end of August. I would be like to hear how things went this summer and from folks in my session, 8/30-9-4,

I'm participating in the 7/12-7/17 program. After the program, I need to get to the airport earlier than the scheduled shuttle. Does anyone else need to leave earlier due to an earlier flight on the 17th, with whom I can share the cost of a taxi with? I'll need to leave the motel at around 9:00 am.

We are two gals doing the Tetons hiking trip from 8/10-15, 2015, then will head to Gardiner, MT for Yellowstone hike trip 8/16-21. Is anyone else doing that? We may rent a car to drive between locations or...suggestions?
Mark Garrison Jun 28, 2015 at 12:04 PM

I will be on a road rip, dropping partner at Salt Lake City airport on the 15ththen continuing to Gardiner on the 16thvia I-15 and U.S. 20. It doesn't seem likely you could connect to my route, but would be happy to pick you up if you can figure a way to do it.

Hi Mark, My roommate and I are rentin a car in Jackson and driving through Yellowstone on 8/15, spending one night in the Park, then driving to start of Yellowstone trip on 8/16. But thanks for your offer.
Mark Garrison Jul 05, 2015 at 03:36 PM

That makes sense. See you there, Mark

There is no time after daily activities for a trail ride. Not sure where the stables are located but you would most likely need a car. I don't think there is a rental company any closer than Bozeman. You will have to do more research on that. There is a limo service from the airport. It isn't cheap and the car we were taken in was not in the very best of shape but that is Montana style.
