Hello! I'm renting a car in Portland......anyone know where the nearest drop off is in Camden? Do I need to then take a cab to the Angelique? Looking forward to sailing Sept 21st!

Last year, instead of renting a car, I took Concord Coach Lines from Portland. Apparently, car rentals are only at airports in this part of Maine, so you would have to park at Camden & return car afterwards. Easy to get taxi outside airport-short trip to bus station. Look online for current schedule. The nearest stop was at Rockport-Midland Farms. This is a gas station/conveniance store that also has a small eatery/take out. From there, Schoodic Bay taxi to Camden, another short drive. Atlantic St. is closest access to Angelique. Look for the side entrance to the Library-the path into the park across the street is where you need to go, taking the left fork in the road. She's berthed between 2 schooners so is easy to spot-also her red sails. Also, there are 4 public computers in that lower level of the library if you need it. Its a wonderful trip!!

Hi Joanne...We just may be roomies... If you can find your way to somewhere near New Hartford, you can drive up the rest of the way with me.

Went last year--only wish trip was longer! Wonderful fresh food well prepared-most lunches on deck. Coffee (or cocoa/tea) waiting at 7am. Vase of wildflowers in cabin a nice touch-snug and comfy, but mostly on deck. We had rain, so pack for all weather. Wonderful trip.

During what month were you on the trip?

Linda saw your email but don't see your message hear. I'm driving up the day before, because it is a nine hour drive for me. Looking forward to meeting you.

I'm going on the June 22 trip. Anybody else? Suggestions?
Donna Bowen Mar 31, 2014 at 10:07 AM

I'm going June 8th. Your best bet is to dress in layers. Went sailing with my grandson at Bootbay 5 years ago during the first week of July. It was wet, cold, foggy and e

How many people are on this trip and how well does it work with only 3 heads and 2 showers. How id the foliage on the September trips? Do you see whales on this trip?

Donna Bowen Mar 21, 2014 at 09:48 AM

Linda, Than you for the information. Five years ago my grandson and I went to Booth Bay Harbor to learn to sail. That was during the first week of July. Out week was foggy, windy and rainy. With that being said, we had a wonderful time.
