My wife and I will on the 10/26 tour ending 11/04. We are interested in taking an early flight out of Florence on 11/04, but the shuttle doesn't appear to leave until 08:30. Is anyone interested in sharing a ride earlier in the morning? I been quoted a cost of $300USD.

The 8:30 departure works for us since we will return to the US by cruise ship leaving from Livorno on 11//05. Looking forward to meeting you!

My husband and I are joining the 10/26 tour and are arriving in Florence 10/24. Anyone else coming in early?

Gail McCain Sep 07, 2015 at 06:39 PM

Hi Laura, I sent you a message with my email address. I plan to stay in Florence a few days after this tour. Look forward to seeing you.

Going on this trip Oct. 8-17, solo traveler, first-time with RS. I got the last available slot and have been put with a roommate but don't know who it is. I fly out of Atlanta late evening of Oct. 7, arrive a day early into Florence, then will meet up with the group at the airport for shuttle to Anghiari. At end of Tuscany trip I'm staying in Florence 4 nights at an Airbnb near the SMN train station, then on to Riomaggiori in Cinque Terre, followed by Sorrento (Amalfi Coast), Taormina Sicily, and finally Rome. Would love to get together with anyone else who's staying over in Florence for sightseeing, dinner, sharing transpo, etc.

Laura, if you can do it, don't miss Pompeii. It's easy to do when in Rome and the Amalfi coast (I did that last spring). Pompeii was a town of love, peace, sharing, community as opposed to the bloody cultuere of Rome. Take a good tour but don't miss it.
Jane Washington Sep 07, 2015 at 03:53 PM

I also liked Monterosso the best of the Cinque Terre towns. It's not far from Riomaggiori and I think there's a train in between.

Huh?! I just signed up and that's how it posts me.

I plan to take this trip Oct 8-17, 2015, traveling solo. This is my first Road Scholar Trip. I will be traveling from Mobile, AL. I would like to spend a few days after this trip in Sienna or Ravenna, or possibly add another RS trip. Would like to hear from others who are also going.
Gail McCain Aug 30, 2015 at 10:51 PM

I look forward to meeting you.

I've cancelled this program for 2015 because I'm going to Germany on Road Scholar's new program "Rise, Fall and Rebirth of Germany". However, I plan to take the Tuscany program in 2016 (hoping I'm still in good health). Would love to have someone join me then for an extended stay then.
Monica Lentini Jun 22, 2015 at 03:59 PM

Pauline, I am a solo traveler also and thinking of taking this trip in 2016. Would also be interested in the extended stay in Florence for a few days. I am just now starting to look at all this site has to offer.
Jean Gilman Jul 11, 2015 at 04:02 PM

Does this trip spend any time in Florence? I'm thinking of taking the Cinque Terre trip, Sept. 30 or Oct. 11, but everyone tells me I have to see Florence. If you decide to do a 2015 fall trip please contact me and I will do same if I hold off until spring 2016. Spring 2016 Cinque Terre trip is about $300 less because exchange rates, I guess.

Pauline Friedman Oct 18, 2014 at 03:01 PM

I'm taking this trip September 30 '15 out of O'Hare. Also, looking for fellow travelers who would like to spend a few days in Florence afterward. Please let me know. Thanks. Pauline
