Road Scholar
Program #19884RJ
6 Days | 5 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Easy (Variable by Program Date)
Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Hi Peggy, At what time will our 7/14 orientation and dinner be? Thanks.

Peggy Newman May 29, 2013 at 05:27 PM

2013 - July 14 program:
You will have time that evening to see Shakespeare's Cymbeline on the outdoor Elizabethan stage. There are even some $25 tickets available now (late May).
If you choose to stay an extra day, on July 19 you can see My Fair Lady, and there are a few seats for King Lear. Call 800-219-8161 for a ticket also to a noon talk by OSF Artistic Director on directing King Lear. I'm looking forward to a busy week with you all! Group Leader Peggy Newman

Clarification of my previous post: I will be flying into Medford and taking the airport shuttle to Cox Hall Sunday afternoon, September 9. Ashland is a 1+ mile WALK but not sure how safe along highway at night. Would like to attend a Sunday evening performance with someone or a couple who are coming with a car.
Carol Moore Aug 31, 2012 at 02:49 PM

Hi Judith, I am the group leader for your group and would be glad to ask people when they arrive if they are planning to see a performance Sunday night. It is safe to walk, but it's quite a ways. There will probably be many people out on the streets because of the theater. We're showing some videos about the programs that evening, but if you can arrange to see a play, that's great. Looking forward to meeting you. Carol Moore

Thanks, Carol. My friend in Portland tells me it is a well lit and safe walk. However, I plan to wait and not purchase a ticket until I definitely know abuot someone who is also planning to see a performance on Sunday. So I'll wait to see if you find anyone and you can let me know.

Judith Bergman Aug 25, 2012 at 12:41 PM

I will be flying out from North Carolina via stop over in Portland to visit with a friend. Won't have wheels. Would like to attend a Sunday night (Sept. 9) "on our own" performance either at the OSF (Henry V or Romeo & Juliet) or the Cabaret in Ashland (Song & Dance review). Is anyone interested?
