Program #3856RJ
9 Days | 8 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Active
While all of our learning adventures offer extraordinary value, our "Best Value" programs were rated by our participants themselves who thought their dollar went particularly far.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Hi, I am going on the July 6, 2014 tour. Very excited about seeing this spectacular area. My sister and her husband will be with me, after coming over from England.

Aila Long Oct 21, 2013 at 09:27 AM

Anyone going on the July 6, 2014 one?

Mary Frank Aug 27, 2013 at 11:36 AM

One thing worries me about this trip. On day 5, there is a Glacier walk with clamp ons. Does anyone know if it is possible to
skip the walk and just look at the glacier?
Helen Sternheim Aug 27, 2013 at 02:35 PM

I would think you could skip the walk.
Ann Gussett Oct 25, 2013 at 07:44 PM

You can skip the walk if you want and wait in the visitor's center. Jim and I thought the trip was great and the scenery was beautiful, the guide excellent and our group outstanding. Ann

Marcy and I are arriving on August 3 in Calgary and going up to Banff on Saturday. We're going to explore the Banff area a bit on our own before we all meet as a group. (And get used to the altitude.) Any suggestions for easy exploring on Sunday?

Ann Gussett Apr 19, 2013 at 05:22 PM

Jim and i will be taking this trip to Canada and are looking forward to it. We will stay in Calgary the night before and take ths shuttle to Banff on Aug 4 2013. Would love to hear from anyone else going. Ann

Hi Ann, Duncan and I will be staying in Calgary at The Sandman Hotel from August 2-4 and taking either the Brewster transportation from the hotel or the Banff Airporter from the airport sometime after 1 pm on the 4th. Anne
Ann Gussett Jun 07, 2013 at 02:57 PM

Hello Anne, I have just made our arrangements for travel to and from the trip. Jim and I are staying at the Marriott in Calgary and will take the Brewster transport to Banniff at !:20 on the fourth. We will come arrive in Calagary on Sunday night, so will not have much time in Calgary. We will use Brewsters to go back to the airport on the 12 and will leave on the 7:40 am shuttle. Looking forward to meeting you. Ann

The origination point for this tour seems to be in Banff. The closest airport is Cagary, correct? What is the best way to get from Calgary to Banff? Does the tour offer any transportation?
Road Scholar Jun 05, 2012 at 04:33 PM

Yes, the closest airport is Calgary. The tour itself does not offer any transportation, but we do recommend using this shuttle service: Hourly shuttle services to Banff is available from the Calgary International Airport (CAD $53-106). Check out http://banffairporter.com/ for the most up to date shuttle information. Reservations are required. Please call 1-888-449-2901.
