This web site posts Cornell new articles on Warblers, migration and a talk by authors of the Warbler Guide. Hope this works. If not, search latest issue from Cornell Labs. John Quinley

Clarification: No one has been assigned a B&B at this time for the spring birding programs. The B&B assignments are made one month prior to your arrival after the March 15 deadline for special requests.

If you have the National Geographic guide, that would be a good one to bring. I will usually have a number of field guides with me including Sibleys as well as an Audubon identification guide and songs on my smart phone as well. Each of the birding guides will probably have field guides with them but it is great if you have your own field guides as well for referencing later on your own. We will also have a Lake Erie Islands Bird List that will come to you in the next mailing and is available on our www.lakeerieislandsbsc.com website. On the first day, we will have CD's and booklets on Common Birds of Ohio from the Ohio Division of Wildlife for each participant to have and use if they wish. There will be opportunities later in the week to purchase great local field guides at the Point Pelee Provincial Park, Magee Marsh, and at the Black Swamp Bird Observatory gift shops.

As far as optics, please bring a good pair of binoculars with you if you have them. There is a sheet on optics prepared by Tom Bartlett, one of our birding leaders for you. You will receive it in the next mailing and it is available online on the SPI for the program with Road Scholar. We will have a few extra pairs of binoculars if they are needed. Each birding guide will have a spotting scope to share with participants but some bring their own if they have one. It is helpful with any migratory waterfowl, shorebirds at Point Pelee, or viewing the nesting bald eagles on South Bass but not necessary.

Got my copy of The Warbler guide by Tom Stephen. Huge in details. It is going to help me much in getting prepared for Lake Erie. J Quinley
