Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Would anyone be interested in sharing a taxi from the Bozeman airport to the Yellowstone Lodge on Sunday July 19th in the morning? The only shuttle leaves the airport at 1:00 and we arrive at 9:45 am from Denver.Debbie Kullby; debkullby@gmail.com

My grandson, 9, and I are looking forward to coming.
Deborah Kullby May 18, 2015 at 05:40 PM

How are you getting there? Flying to Bozemann?
Marilyn Jacobcik May 18, 2015 at 06:29 PM

Flying to Idaho Falls.
Deborah Kullby May 18, 2015 at 10:33 PM

How do you get from there to West Yellowstone Inn?
Marilyn Jacobcik May 19, 2015 at 07:37 PM

I'm driving in.

Our 2013 group included quite a few girls, maybe a half dozen. You can see from my web posting at

I took the trip with my 10 yr old grandson in 2013 and there was only 1 girl on the trip. It certainly isn't intended for just boys but I would check with registration to make sure there are other girls. It is a wonderful program but it was hard for this child to be the only girl at meals and during free time.

This is what I worry about most. If there is even one other girl, I think we will be fine. It's just really hard to be the only one of any category that is different. Your suggestion (checking with registration) is a good one.

I am interested in bringing my 9-year-old granddaughter to Yellowstone for the August program. The discussion board seems to indicate that only boys do this program. Is Claire likely to be the only girl in the group? I'm not sure this would be a problem for her, but it certainly would have been for me when I was nine.

When I took this tour with my 11 year old grandson there were about a third of the group that were girls and they had a great time with each other and with the grandparents. I recommend this tour very highly. Kevin still talks about it. We did go a couple days early to visit the part of the park the tour does not visit. But that was my choice.

Thank you for your information.

Minta, I just checked the enrollment for this program, looks like you will have plenty of other girls for your granddaughter as there are currently only 3 males in the program (all granddads). I hope this is helpful and it should be a great time!

My grandson, Ethan (almost 10), and I are looking forward to our Yellowstone Adventure starting on July 20th. I'll be flying to TN to travel with him. We are going to Boise to meet up with my friend Shirley (we have done many Road Scholar programs together) and her great grandson. The four of us will be driving to West Yellowstone on the 20th. It's going to be an exciting trip with new friends. We've been anticipating this trip since Christmas.

My 10 yr old grandson John and I will be on the Yellowstone trip starting 7/28 however we will fly into Idaho Falls on the 26th and have a rental car if anyone is planning on getting in that early and leaving back to IDA on August 2nd

Virginia Blaine Jul 04, 2013 at 09:08 PM

My grandson Tyler is from South Carolina and I am from Missouri. We will arrive a day early and check into West Yellowstone Lodge the evening of the 20th. Anyone else to be there on that evening?
John Goodman Jul 09, 2014 at 03:20 PM

Hello, Virginia! My grandson, Jonah, my husband, John and I are arriving the evening of the 20th as well. I believe the program begins with dinner that night. Looking forward to meeting you, Sandy Goodman
