Ellen and Sharon, I am thinking about coming early as well. would I be able to share the shuttle with you?
Sharon K Jun 12, 2015 at 02:38 PM

Carolyn, the posts you are referring to are from last year's trip (2014). However, I am doing the trip again this year. I am arriving Saturday and taking the 1:00 shuttle to our hotel. Last year, we met at the "Estes Park Shuttle" pick up spot around 12:30/12:45. We can do the same this year. Hopefully, that works for you. Looking forward to meeting you.. Sharon

Hi Sharon, I am in the process of booking my flight. I can arrive at 9 am or around 12:55 p.m. What time(s) does the shuttle depart?
Sharon K Jun 12, 2015 at 08:26 PM

Hi Carolyn, I am scheduled for the 1:00 shuttle. It takes about two hours to get to Estes Park. You will need to check with the shuttle service to see if any other times are offered.

Ellen Jul 24, 2014 at 04:17 PM

I'm excited and packing today for CO and arriving Sat. to acclimate. Anyone else coming early?

Sharon, Are you still on the 1:00 shuttle ? If so, how will I recognize you?
Sharon K Jul 24, 2014 at 06:06 PM

Ellen, yes, I'm on the 1:00 shuttle. I will meet in in the shuttle pick-up area. I am 5'1" with short brown hair. I will either have a red or brown rolling canvass duffle bag. How will I recognize you? The picture of you is very small on this site so I can't really tell what you look like.
Ellen Jul 24, 2014 at 06:49 PM

OK I'm 5'5'' brown/blonde hair. I'll have a green suitcase.

Sharon K May 10, 2014 at 02:04 PM

Ellen, I just signed up for the Rocky Mountain trip and am coming in from the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area. I am coming in the day before (Saturday) and taking the shuttle from the Denver airport to the hotel. I will be on the 1:00 shuttle that gets in around 3:00/3:30. If you would like to get together prior to the official start of the program, please let me know.
Ellen May 10, 2014 at 02:55 PM

Awesome. I'll be leaving at about 4:40AM to get to my flight and taking the 1:00 shuttle on Sat. too so we'll have plenty of time to chat...unless we are sleeping :+)

Ellen Apr 17, 2014 at 01:08 AM

Is anyone arriving early for this program? I'm coming from sea level and may want to get there a day early to acclimate to the altitude.
Jeanie Apr 17, 2014 at 01:13 PM

I did the hiking trip last year and it was fabulous. I know you'll have a great time. And yes, coming a bit earlier to acclimate to the altitude is a very good idea.
Ellen Apr 23, 2014 at 04:05 PM

Thank you! Any other insights, tips or descriptions you can pass along?
Jeanie Apr 23, 2014 at 05:19 PM

They start out slowly and progress a little more each day. The two leaders we had were absolutely wonderful - extremely encouraging, funny, and knowledgable. I actually came a few days before because I also came from sea level. Make sure your boots are broken in!
Ellen Apr 24, 2014 at 11:49 AM

Sounds good. My boots are definitely broken in from backpacking trips. I'm excited! and looking forward to seeing the high country!

Candy Graham Jul 12, 2013 at 12:17 AM

I'm from Texas and am leaving about a week early to hike along the way. I will arrive in Estes Park a few days before the program and would love to meet other participants.
Jeanie Jul 24, 2013 at 10:32 PM

Hi Candy, I'm in Estes Park now at the Alpine Trail Ridge Inn. When will you be I. Estes Park?

Jeanie May 27, 2013 at 01:17 PM

Catherine -
Are you doing the trip again this year?
Catherine Tegarden May 29, 2013 at 05:36 AM

Jeanie, I am not I was looking at the one in Wyoming,

Jeanie May 16, 2013 at 08:03 PM

Hi Jane,

I'd be interested, but unfortunately I live in Maryland. Are you coming this way any time? Shenandoah National Park is a great place to hike. It's about an hour and a half from here.

Jane Mooney May 16, 2013 at 07:24 PM

Sorry stupid response didn't realize it was a year ago - well, anyone else interested?
Catherine Tegarden May 18, 2013 at 05:22 AM

Dear Jane I am so excited for you. I would love to talk anyway. It is a great trip. My friend and I went. We trained in different ways and she had problems with the hike. She is in better "shape" than I am, but I did a lot of climbing hills. I think you need that cardio up type workout. My phone # is (513) 259-4735
