Jan, Friday is a short bike and shuttle ride. In the past, they have been back at the conference center by noon. Some participants are anxious to move on to thier next adventure, others are waiting for Airport shuttle. You could firm up your plans sometime during the week when you know exactly the time you'll be finishing. You can expect very nice weather in September in Maryland.

We have 20 bikers. We have had some people from the west coast before, they seem to enjoy a chance to see the East coast. I do not know where the participants are from as of now. I hope you enjoy History, wooded forest, and new friends. Tom Brogan

I am planning to make arrangements for a rental car from Hagerstown, for delivery/ride to the rental agency on 9/25. What time should I ask for the car to be delivered? I see that we have lunch at Shepherds Spring that day.

Anyone else doing this trip April 19-24? I live in Atlanta, first trip with Road Scholar.Have only done road cycling, not sure what to expect with these trails.

Carol-- I am doing this trip. I'm from Des Moines, IA. Search C&O Towpath on YouTube and you can see video. Do you know how we make arrangements to catch the shuttle from the airport to the conference center?

I will be participating in this event in June and have several questions. #1 I will be flying in from San Francisco. Which of the 3 airports is closest to Sharpsburg? #2 Has anyone used the shuttle service that could give me suggestions about what airport it picks up from, etc. #3 What is the weather typically like in that area in June? Thanks.

Mickey, I'm also looking at this trip. Dulles is slightly closer but you may find better flight bargains into BWI on Southwest [especially from OAK] and maybe faster from plane to car at Baltimore. For a San Franciscan the weather can seem a little humid. June is not deep hot weather season and at the slight altitude Cumberland or Harper's Ferry will be notably less muggy than DC. Know nothing about shuttle service.

Looking for ride to/from DC area.
