My husband & I are seriously thinking about enrolling in this program. But, I am confused by the description for Day 5. The headline for Day 5 says biking from White Top to Abingdon; the mourning description says from Abingdon to White Top. The program provider was supposed to call and clarify, but I haven't heard yet. If you have participated in this program, please clarify for me! Thanks.

Any one care to make any comments on the Oct 5th trip???

Heading down from Maryland for the program that starts May 18th. Bringing our recumbents. Hope the rain stays away.

Adrian Wood Apr 29, 2013 at 12:07 PM

This trip sounds great. Is it okay to bring your own bike (a semi-recumbent)?
Madeleine Apr 30, 2013 at 04:44 PM

There was a gentleman on last year's trip who brought his own bike . . . so, apparently so! It's a great trip.

Madeleine Apr 12, 2013 at 02:59 PM

I enjoyed this trip so much last year that I've signed up for it again . . . I booked the Sept 29 - Oct 4, 2013 trip. Looking forward to it!

How are the rooms ??
Madeleine Mar 23, 2014 at 03:43 PM

Clean, comfortable & basic. The 4H facility has 'dormitory-type' rooms. The room I was in had two single beds & a bunk bed. The beds were comfortable.

Here's a nice website about the VA Creeper Trail. Check out the video & photos. http://www.vacreepertrail.org Looking forward to riding it!
Pauline Mami Sep 06, 2012 at 02:55 PM

Thank you for the website and I look forward to meeting you.
Madeleine Sep 07, 2012 at 11:24 AM

You're welcome, Pauline! I look forward to meeting you, too.

Do you encourage participants to bring their own pedals and biking shoes . . . or just ride in tennis shoes?
Road Scholar Aug 01, 2012 at 04:36 PM

For this program, we do not recommend participants bringing their own pedals and biking shoes. We recommend shoes that you will be comfortable riding in.
Madeleine Aug 19, 2012 at 06:26 PM

Thank you!
