If anyone is extending trip thru 10/8/2015, Chihuly Glass Garden is having an early morning tour given by their gardeners. I got my ticket online at their website. Nice way to end the trip.
Jan Minion Sep 19, 2015 at 07:10 PM

Is this the same as the Chihuly Museum - we are staying an extra day in Seattle I will look into this.

is this a trip where I, a single person, can be assigned a roommate, or must I get a single?
Rich Roy Aug 30, 2015 at 09:21 AM

Have only been on one RS On The Road and it was recommended we have day pack. We were on same bus for two weeks and were able to leave on bus overnight. This trip has multiple modes of transit and carrying of luggage. I am thinking of bringing a small wheeled backpack to carry what is need while separated from suitcase. Any thoughts?
Lauren Smith Apr 22, 2015 at 11:04 AM

Hi CT, You shouldn’t need a wheeled backpack since you will be staying at a hotel every night. The only time you’ll be responsible for moving your luggage will be when getting on and off the ferries during which time you will have to move all of your luggage. But a wheeled backpack would be a great way to keep anything you’d like to have all day with you. When you receive your preparatory materials, there will be a packing list included so you can get a better idea of what you’ll need. I hope I answered your question and that you enjoy your program!

Are the Amtrak seats reserved to keep group together or on first come, first serve basis? Coach or Business?
Rich Roy Oct 06, 2014 at 10:55 AM

... our group was in two cars, Coach. we walked throughout the train to snack and beverage bar, etc. we may have had the two cars reserved?... our trip was in 2013.

Thank you. Have booked for the fall of 2015. Hard to get time away in the short gardening season in CT :-)

I read in a review not to miss the Chihuly Glassworks. I am staying an extra day in Seattle to see this. If this is included in the program I would not have to stay an extra day. Does anyone know if this is included?
Rich Roy Sep 28, 2014 at 06:01 PM

...it was not part of this trip in 2013 ...
Rich Roy Sep 28, 2014 at 06:03 PM

we did get to see an exhibit of glassworks that included Chihuly ... but, this was just a lucky thing close to our Seattle hotel...
CT PBW Sep 28, 2014 at 06:15 PM

Thanks, will be worth the extra night. Will make sure he's not closed for a private event beforehand.

Do we really need coats for the June trip?
Susan Whittaker Jun 24, 2014 at 12:34 AM

I think the low temps should be in the high 50s/low 60s. Layers should be sufficient.
