Arriving a day early for the April 27, 2015 trip. Anyone interested in dinner Sunday night or doing something Monday before the dinner/orientation? I was thinking of either renting a car to visit the Coyote Gulch Art Village (10 miles away) or walking to the Red Cliffs Desert Reserve above St George for a hike.

My first RS adventure - May 26,2014. Have hiked in southern Utah many times, but very little in Grand Staircase-Escalante. Looking forward to May and meeting other hikers!

Doing Grand Staircase early September. Dixie is a terrific RS sponser. Used to very challenging treks.

I didn't feel this was that strenuous. However, I am a hiker and am used to hiking in mountain terrain. It was a wonderful trip!

Can anyone who has been on this trip comment on how strenuous it is? It looks like a wonderful trip. 6-23-14

I am enrolled in the April 22nd trip and am wondering if anyone is interested in arriving a day earlier, renting a car, and going down to Antelope Canyon in Arizona, about a 3 hour drive from St. George.

I am signed up for the October 8-13 trip and I am wondering if anybody might be interested in arriving a few days earlier and renting a car to explore the Valley of Fire just northeast of Las Vegas and/or take a few short hikes in Death Valley?
Ann Winget Aug 30, 2012 at 05:36 PM

I will not be arriving until late Oct. 7, but will be staying Oct. 13 and 14, then doing the Best Friends Animal Sactuary trip. Looking for someone who might rent a car for the weekend and go hiking somewhere nearby. Would this work? Already booked my flight.
Chris Ketelsen Aug 30, 2012 at 11:33 PM

I am flying into Las Vegas on Oct. 6 in the evening. I am planning to stay in Vegas for a night and I am still hoping to find someone who is interested in visiting thee Valley of Fire or Death Valley before starting the hiking trip. I am perhaps available to go hiking in the St. George area on Oct. 8 in the morning. Unfortunately I am flying back home right after the trip ends
Ann Winget Sep 02, 2012 at 12:52 AM

Well, rats. I am flying in to Vegas quite late on the 7th. Plan to overnight in a motel near the airport, take the shuttle to St. George in the AM, arriving St. George 1 PM. Could take the 8AM shuttle, arr. 11AM, and that would leave the aft. for hiking.
