Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
Close [ x ]
Easy
For people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
Moderate
These programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
Active
For people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately Challenging
For hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
Challenging
Get ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

I went on the April trip - my first RS - and had a great time. It is well organized and the speakers are very interesting. The attendees were very nice and good discussions.Be forwarned you will either need lots of cash or your checkbook for souvenirs at the pueblos and the street merchants in Santa Fe, as they mostly don't take credit cards. Bring close toed shoes,a warm sweater and light gloves for the trips to pueblos as they are at high elevations and can get cold. RS provides a water bottle for the trips. You will have a very good time.

Carol, I look forward to meeting you. I've attended both Road Scholar and Elder Hostel programs. All of the progams were well done. Instructors were well chosen. See you in New Mexico in a few days.

Whoops I just noticed I have the wrong date - it's the April 7-12 program. I am traveling as a single but signed to share a room. Would like to connect with others who are signed up for this trip. I'm very excited about the subject of this excursion.

Will be attending the program starting2/17/13. Previous Elderhostel programs provided a list of participants, and the state they were from. Has that practice been discontinued ?

Hi. I'm excited to be in this program in a couple of weeks. My flight from NJ on 10/14 has me on a 5 hr. layover in Denver. Anyone else connecting there as well? Would love to hook up for some coffee and a chat.
