Hi, I am wondering who else will be attending this program. It is my first time on a Road Scholar experience and I am excited. Looking forward to time at the lake and the beautiful setting, and of course time to make new friends.

I will be there on Aug 17. Is that the date you are coming? How experienced in photography are you?
Landa Palmer Jul 18, 2015 at 06:03 PM

I am arriving on the 17th and am excited to be there. I am not experienced. I just take pictures for my own pleasure and play with editing on the computer. I have wanted to take a course for some time and I thought this and the setting would be perfect!
A Myers Jul 18, 2015 at 10:36 PM

I am not experienced. In fact I seem to use my iPhone more than my camera. We are going to 2 other programs before we to this one. We just did back to back. My husband wanted to do the birding course which are the same dates as the photography so this worked. I'm not into birds and he isn't into photography. I think this will be a beautiful settings. We are from Texas and always try to get away for August, September and part of October. So we love this part of the country and enjoy coming up there. So not only will it be beautiful but also much cooler than here.

I look forward to meeting you. My husband is staying home. We have a dairy farm and he too is not into photography. This is my first time with Road Scholar so am checking it out and perhaps next year can get him to join me in an adventure! I live in upstate NY so it is not far from me but I need little excuse to go to the ADK's.

I look forward to meeting you also. It will be nice to know someone before I get there. I was a bit concerned about my experience level, but if you aren't an experienced photographer either then I feel more comfortable. Well, I bet your more experienced than I am.
Landa Palmer Jul 19, 2015 at 10:54 AM

What is your first name? And I bet there will be all levels and we can all help each other.
A Myers Jul 19, 2015 at 02:58 PM

Landa, I apologize. I didn’t realize my name wasn’t listed but now I notice that I am A. My name is Ann. I am sure that there will be all levels also. One of the many things that makes these courses interesting is meeting the varied people with all levels of expertise. I know that last year I learn so much from fellow attendees. What type of camera do you have?
Landa Palmer Jul 20, 2015 at 05:37 PM

I have a point and shoot and now I just bought a Canon Rebel. It is taking a bit of practice but I like it. It has a couple of different lens, which I never messed with before so am hoping to learn some tricks.
A Myers Jul 21, 2015 at 12:03 PM

I have had a Canon T3i 600 D for 3 year but have never learned to do more with it than the A setting. I'm taking a crash course on YouTube. I got in the habit of using my iPhone because it does take good pics. Of course I could do so much more with the T3i

Hi Carolyn and Kathleen,
Good to meet you online. I am also looking forward to this course and being at Racquet Lake. It will also be great to get back to New York which is my native state (now living in Texas). This will be my first Road Scholar experience.

Carolyn Weihl Jul 11, 2014 at 07:51 PM

I am picking up a full size rental car at Albany airport in Sept 1 at 10 am,
Return Sept 5 at noon. Is anyone interested in sharing car expenses and driving?

Looking forward to the program and meeting with everyone at the Sagamore! Racquet Lake is a most beautiful part of the park.

I'm driving up from Hartford CT area on October 8, 2012 & was wondering if anyone wanted to join me? I'm having trouble with my driving knee. Pam Sisson
