I've never posted here, so hope I do it correctly. I leave Houston for Munich May 5, arriving in Munich May 6, and booked on UA 9044 departing Munich 11:10 a.m., arriving Ankara 3 p.m. This will be my first trip to Turkey. Have been enjoying The Great Courses series on Greece and Turkey. I, too, look forward to meeting everyone.
John Suter May 04, 2014 at 12:12 PM

Hi Karen. Looks like the Munich-Ankara leg is another United-Lufthansa joint flight -- we're on the same one, probably with many of our crew. See you in Munich.

John Suter Apr 30, 2014 at 02:19 PM

Hello everyone who's on this trip beginning this coming Monday, May 5. My wife Natasha and I are eagerly looking forward to meeting all of you (there are 18 of us altogether), and I thought it would be fun to find out who each other are before we start spotting the Road Scholar luggage tags in the airports. We're from Ithaca, New York. We'll be arriving at Dulles from Syracuse on United at 3:45 for the 5:15 Lufthansa flight to Munich arriving May 6, 7:50am. Anyone else on either of those flights?
Dan Whelton May 01, 2014 at 06:34 AM

Goodmorning John My wife and I are on a United Flight at 5:15 for 7:50 arrival at Munich, I wonder if its the same flight as yours. Lufthansa and United are partners and share codes. We live in Marlyand so Dulles is somewhat local for us. Look forward to meeting you. Cheers/Dan and Nancy Whelton
John Suter May 01, 2014 at 08:51 AM

Good morning, Dan and Nancy. Yes, it's the same flight (UA 0132, LH 9281). Where are you in Maryland? Our daughter lives and works in DC.
Dan Whelton May 01, 2014 at 03:42 PM

Chesapeake Beach, Calvert County which is called Southern Maryland

Hi Mary. Yes I will be traveling with the group. I am a clinical pharmacist from Denver. I will be flying from Denver to Chicago tomorrow morning and arriving in the afternoon to fly on then to Munich. Maybe we are on the same plane. I am never sure whether these messages are going through. Let me know if you get this message. Thanks Scott Wiley

Scott, thanks for your response. I am not taking this trip until Oct 14, however. I hope your trip is marvelous, because I certainly want mine to be, too. Mary Bacon
Scott Wiley Sep 29, 2013 at 12:10 PM

I see that now Mary. I hope you have a great trip!

Hi John. I would like to chat some with people going on this trip. Have you been to Turkey before? Scott
John Dwyer Sep 25, 2013 at 08:25 PM

No Scott. It's a first time for us.

Natalie Montgomery Sep 23, 2013 at 08:04 PM

Hi John - I'm going on the 9/30 Turkey trip, and as my current cell is not a quad band, bought a cheap int'l cell from Telestial with a Turkey SIM card. A bit late for this input though!
