ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.

Might anyone else be bringing a 10-11 year old grandson?
Nancy Taylor Jun 14, 2013 at 09:57 AM

are you going in July or August?
Celia Walker Jun 14, 2013 at 11:20 AM

Duh. Sorry. August 4-9.
Nancy Taylor Jun 17, 2013 at 02:30 PM

I'll be there with my 10 year old nephew.

I am thinking of bringing my 12 1/2 yo grandson... Is this too tame for that age?
Celia Walker May 19, 2014 at 07:18 PM

It might depend on how much "woods" experience he has. I suspect he might be one of the older kids (every year is different; ours last year was all boys, mostly in the 10-12 age). The kids learned to read a compass, swam in the lake and dredged for aquatic insects, learned to canoe, hiked, were introduced to live raptors, learned to start fires, did team-building exercises, fished (and caught!) and archery. And played basketball together, played cards in the evening.
