I (65+ female) have enrolled in this May, 2015 program. I plan to arrive of May 15 in Sitka and leave May 24 from Juneau, adding two extra hotel nights to my itinerary. Is there another single female on this tour who might want to share/split the extra hotel costs for either or both of these nights? Contact LM_Dettmer@Yahoo.com.

Just wanted to give a shout out of five stars for the Sea Bird. My husband and I were aboard her in February 2012 in the Sea of Cortez, and she's a fabulous small ship. The lounge where we had group meetings and social and educational events is equipped to project computer and video programs and provided excellent programs to supplement the things we were doing live. To answer Marnelle's question, passengers need to be able to go up and down stairs. The deck on which the dining room and lounge is different from the deck that has the outdoor lounging and viewing areas. Also, if your husband wanted to go on any of the small boat tours within bays where the ship is anchored he would need to be able to climb up and own a ladder and get in and out of a Zodiak boat. The staff would certainly help him with these activities, and there were a number of people on our cruise using canes who managed.

Has anyone on this list gone on the Alaska Small Ship program? Could you tell me if it was good for someone with limited mobility. My husband can walk unassisted, but has some limitations. thanks!
