Our first time with Road Scholar. Coming from AL in our motor home. Is there a camping park anywhere around the area where we can stay and join the group for meals?

I am going on the Oct 18-21st trip. Can anyone give me a lift from the DC area. I fly into DC on the 17th and would rather not have to take a bus. I will gladly share the expense to and from. Please reach me at 310-480-0426. Mitch

Anyone coming from New England for the June 1-4 trip?

Jim Alicata Feb 13, 2015 at 07:29 PM

I am interested in the June 1-4 trip. I am planning on a single occupancy. Are these arrangements on a limited basis?

Anyone coming from the PHiladelphia area for Oct. 27th trip?

Connie Ford Oct 05, 2014 at 09:43 PM

Have any of you rented a bike for this trip? What was the type/quality of the bike?
Marjorie Welsh Oct 05, 2014 at 10:51 PM

I took my own bike, a hybrid which I felt worked very well for the roads. There is some sand. We road in rain one day. I felt very comfortable with a hybrid over a road bike. As far as I knew everyone had their own bikes. There were a few mountain bikes.

I'm travelling solo. Anyone else coming from the Philadelphia region who might like to car pool? (Oct. 27th trip)

Terri Martin May 29, 2014 at 03:17 PM

Sorry, but yet more questions.....How many miles do you ride at one time? We have "cruisers" would that work on this trip? And, should one tire, can you catch a ride?
Marjorie Welsh May 29, 2014 at 03:43 PM

I use Map My Ride so I have my history. I rode 21.6 miles on Day 1. 27 miles on Day 2 in cold rain. What an adventure. Several riders did get in the sag wagon because of the weather. Day 3 was 9.6 miles. There is always a staff member bringing up the rear so no worries about being left behind. The sag wagon follows should you want a ride or need mechanical support. Cruisers should be fine.
