Thinking about taking this trip in August. Wondering if it will be too hot. Also, for those who traveled from western NY state, what driving route did you take? Thanks.

Make sure you take some booze and enjoy your fellow paddlers outside prior to dinner. Great trip. Have fun

Scheduled for the June 14-19th program. Anyone out there also scheduled? Purchased lots of stuff to bring. Wondering if anyone who's been on the trip can suggest 'must have' items not listed in the book.

Must haves: bug spray, sun screen, rain gear, kayaking gloves. I brought too many clothes.

...how could I forget! Beer, wine, or whatever your choice of adult beverage. The common room (adults only) has a refrigerator. And bring earplugs- we had a group of middle-schoolers above us the first few days and and buildings are anything but soundproof!

My husband and I, along with 6 friends, will be on the May 17-22 trip. Looking forward to it and hoping it doesn't rain!

The trip was great! Very well organized, the guides were very knowledgeable and friendly. This was our first Road Scholar trip but it won't be our last!

I'm on the May 17-22 2015 trip. Anyone driving down from NYC/NJ/Philadelphia who is willing to share a ride? If so, please email me at jemiller59@comcast.net. Thanks!

Looks like a great trip. Don't know which date is best. Am single (62) and would share with another on date of your choice as I am flexible. Never Kayaked but canoed in Girl Scouts. Would be flying in from Las Vegas.

Is it possible to use our own kayaks?

Carol Nale Jul 01, 2014 at 08:16 PM

I am driving from Maine on Aug. 9-10 and back on Aug. 15-16. Would love to carpool or stay with a fellow participant on the 9th or 15th. I think it will be a 2 day drive for me.
Anyone heading this way from north of the area? THANKS!
