Please describe the lodgings. Do we have to share a bathroom?
Beth Amitai May 15, 2015 at 12:53 PM

Hi Judy. there were 21 people on my group, I went with a friend....we each had our own room, but shared a bathroom, which was not a problem. Hope you have a great time...Beth

Will I have the opportunity to have a roommate for the VA. eastern shore program?(Aug. 16-21, 2015)

Abby Pariser Nov 06, 2014 at 08:00 AM

Trip is Nov 9-14--weather expected? Is there coffee in the residence? WIFI? Where's the nearest "store" if I forgot anything?
Beth Amitai Nov 06, 2014 at 09:10 AM

Hi Abby, I am going in May--not sure what the weather will be like--I would check the weather channel and for the others check with the host site....have a great trip!

Beth Amitai Aug 21, 2014 at 10:53 AM

Can't wait for this trip! I retire in April 2015 and this is my gift to myself!
Darlene Jul 23, 2015 at 04:04 PM

I wondered how your trip went? I am registered for Oct. I want to stay longer. Do you recommend the field station extra nights or hotel?
Beth Amitai Jul 23, 2015 at 06:40 PM

Hi Darlene, the program was wonderful, I enjoyed every minute. The field station is nice, you would probably have to find your meals...will you have a car? We came from upstate NY and stayed overnight in Wildwood NJ on the way...enjoy!!!

We are counting the days until the trip. I've wanted to visit this area since I read 'Misty' while in grade school! We are also from the midwest.

Really looking forward to this trip to the shore. I'm very interested in nature and love to get away from the cities. As a Midwesterner, the sea is always a treat!

I would like to know to what extent the history & early English settlement will be treated in this program. While I have strong interests in nature, ecology & related topics, I am particularly drawn to the human face of the Shore since I have ancestors who settled it in the very early days & remained in Accomack County into the 20th century. I do hope this will be a significant part of the program. I inquired about this two months ago & never received a reply. George W. Taylor, Tuscaloosa AL

Besides other aspects, I have a special interest in the early English settlement of the Virginia Eastern Shore because my family immigrated there in the mid 1600s to live at Pungoteague in Accomack County. I hope this topic will be well addressed in the program. Thank you. George Taylor
