ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Anyone taking United flight 915 on April 24th (from Dulles to Paris)? If so, I'd like to meet you in Dulles and (when we get to Paris) go together to join the group transfer bus.
Ana Sweet Apr 15, 2014 at 12:04 PM

Hope you meet someone. Bob and I will already be in Paris and meet up with the group at the airport. Really looking forward to meeting everyone.

Sheila Moore Mar 08, 2014 at 12:58 PM

Please be aware that this change (among others) of the departure city for the September trip means that you will not be able to take a morning flight home. Caen is about a three hour drive from Paris. While preferring to stay in Colmar and Bayeux over the new cities, it is most disappointing to be told that we won't know final details until a month before the trip. We prefer making our own travel arrangements and hope others haven't booked a flight that they can't make from the new departure city.

I'm considering this trip for September 2014. Would go solo but willing to room with someone. Might as well save the money to spend on wine!
Ann Gussett Jan 29, 2014 at 04:39 PM

I am going in Sept. and will fly out of WashingtonDC, Dulles. I am from VA. and looking forward to the trip. I am a retired school teacher and reading specialist.

I'm a first timer with RS going to Survey of France the end of April.Leaving from Philadelphia to Minneapolis to Paris. Anyone out there that might have the same venue let me know.
Ana Sweet Jan 27, 2014 at 06:04 PM

We will be flying into Paris on the 22nd and meeting you all in Bayeaux on the 25th. Needed that little extra Paris fix.
Dorothy (Doree) Masters Feb 11, 2014 at 05:16 PM

Hi Ana - I'm arriving on the 23rd. Plan on staying at same hotel as at the end of our trip. Traveling alone so perhaps we can meet pre-program. First time in Paris!
Ana Sweet Mar 01, 2014 at 11:52 AM

We will be arriving on 22nd and staying at the Hotel du Champ de Mars on the Rul Cler. Took Rick Steves recommendation. Not sure if we will see you until the 25th. Are you meeting the group at the Airport in the morning?
Lois Diephaus Mar 08, 2014 at 10:04 AM

Ana, I will arrive in Paris on the 25th. and meeting up with the group there. So we can meet as soon as you meet up with the group. Thank you for responding I have been down south the past few weeks. Lois

Anyone going to Paris early for the April trip? We just ordered our flights and arrive on the 22nd.

Michael Groves Oct 06, 2013 at 08:04 PM

Ana: We (my wife and I) have booked the April 2014 tour. We have done 2 overseas tours with RS and both were wonderful. Both used buses and a full time guide and could not have been better.
Ana Sweet Oct 06, 2013 at 08:13 PM

We have done 7 in the US and did sign up for the 2014 trip. We are really looking forward to it. Later in the year we are going to NE Thailand but with a group we have traveled with before.
Michael Groves Oct 07, 2013 at 11:54 AM

You, will enjoy Thailand. We lived in Malaysia for 5 years (2 different times) and visited Thailand on a number of occasions.
Michael Groves Oct 07, 2013 at 11:55 AM

Forgot to mention, our two overseas RS's were NZ/Australia and India. Could not tell you which we like the most.
Ana Sweet Oct 15, 2013 at 07:00 PM

We were in Thailand for a month a couple of years ago. This guide/organizer is fabulous. We also were in India for a month in 1991 during the whole first Gulf War. Traffic then was quiet since no gas was available to the general drivers. I would love to return to India but there are so many other places to visit.

Ana Sweet Sep 30, 2013 at 04:46 PM

We are considering the April 2014. Better value than the river cruises we looked at.
