I just made reservation with Crystal for the Port Arthur excursion out of
Hobart. Very pricey but also important to me and not willing to risk missing sailing. Also interested in Barrosa Valley wine tour. Lots of $$ through Crystal but also no stress about returning to ship for sailing deadline. Any thougts on this one?
Dorothy Walker Dec 29, 2012 at 12:06 PM

Port Arthur is still a possibility for me. It was one of mr originalplaces way back when. 8 hours seems long tho. Barista valley probably not. I have been wine tasting for 50 years! I did buy in advance the viator pre paid voucher for Sydney. One less thing to take care of there. Did zToni contact you regarding specialty restaurants? If not - you might consider doing so. Not long now!very excited,

Dorothy Walker Dec 21, 2012 at 01:49 PM

Toni, did you make a dinner reservations if or the specialty restaurants?
I remain interested.

Annie Gilcrease Shurtleff Dec 01, 2012 at 02:36 PM

I have just started looking at the tours and trying to find the time to review and reserve....

Toni Whitesell Dec 01, 2012 at 01:02 PM

I reserved 5 tours during the cruise. Most include an animal component. I'll probably be tired of kangaroos and koalas by trips end. But at least I won't miss seeing them.
Dorothy Walker Dec 01, 2012 at 07:33 PM

Still researching the various animal reserves/zoos. May indeed wait until Ii am on b

Annie Gilcrease Shurtleff Nov 12, 2012 at 09:45 AM

I havn't look/booked any tours yet, but would be interested in joining you for steak house dinner
Dorothy Walker Nov 12, 2012 at 01:38 PM

I have not been able to find the "steak house" specialty restaurant on the Crystal Symphony web site. Only the Italian " Pregp" & the Asian " Silk Road" . I do not know where Toni located it.
Toni Whitesell Nov 13, 2012 at 02:19 PM

oops...I got confused with her Oceania cruise...I'm going to make a reservation (if the system will let me) for both of the specialty restaurants. Annie are you interested in Asian and Italian?
Annie Gilcrease Shurtleff Nov 13, 2012 at 03:56 PM

Italian for me.....

Toni Whitesell Nov 11, 2012 at 07:04 PM

I received my preliminary program information in the mail with instructions for making arrangements with Crystal cruises for specialty restaurants and shore excursions. Thought I make reservations for the steak house for 4 people on one of the days the ship is at sea. Also thought I'd book shore excursions. Anyone done this?
Dorothy Walker Nov 11, 2012 at 08:56 PM

Yes. I booked the 3/12 hour tour of Hobart day of arrival. We dock At 2PM and the tour leaves at 2:30-sounds good. Comparing tours and prices from Crstal with other options in Sydney and Brisbane, I find the "Hop onHop off tours to era better deal and more to my liking. They allow more independent sightseeing.
Dorothy Walker Nov 11, 2012 at 09:11 PM

I accidentally pressed send before finishing. Checkout the on and off web site.Sidney& Melbourne also have 31/2 hour walking tours that have rec' d rave reviews on Trip Advisor .com. I plan on doing those. Want also to do the Sydney Opera House- a tour that lasts 1 hour that has to be booked independent of the ship. Yes, I am interested in the specialty restaurants. Which one is the steak place. The Lido I think is Italian the Silk Road I believe is Asian. I am game for all.
Dorothy Walker Nov 12, 2012 at 12:39 AM

Oops. The Italian restaurant is Prego-not Lido.
