Hi! Don, The Marco Polo dining room is the one that people dress up a bit. They suggest men wear jackets. The Terrace Café is casual and has indoor dining and outdoor dining. It has a buffet and the Marco Polo is full service. The food is quite good at both. Nan Mc Mahan
Jane Schmidt Apr 22, 2013 at 12:33 PM

Probably just need nice slacks, shirt and jacket for Marco Polo. I'd rather eat at Terrace Cafe. Totally casual and more fun!

Don Loveday Apr 21, 2013 at 05:58 PM

Can anyone tell us what the dress code is for dinner in the dining room? Hopefully we don't have to pack anything too fancy.

I spent almost a month on the Aegean Odyssey last Dec and this Jan. Great food, staff was wonderful, lectures were Great, and the land trips were more than what I expected. I'm always pleased with Road Scholar. I've signed up for this trip in Oct/Nov. Kate and Jane how did you like this trip? Nan Mc Mahan

I'm SO glad to hear the good news from several people who have been on the Aegean Odyssey! That is the information I needed! Thank you so much! Suzanne

I just got back from the same trip as Jane. I agree with her - the ship is wonderful: clean, comfortable, great food and service. It's very nice to have the same cabin to come back to after the shore excursions day after day, and the days at sea go too fast. Great trip, sign up.
Hi Jane!

This trip looks fantastic. Has anyone ever been on the "Aegean Odyssey?" I googled it and was completely turned off, so would like some positive feedback, if anyone has some. Thanks
Jane Schmidt Apr 19, 2013 at 12:38 PM

I just came back from this trip last night. The ship was absolutely fantastic. Not like the big cruise ships. You can be as relaxed as you wish. The service is top notch, the food wonderful. I'm so used to being waited on that I'm having a hard time fending for myself. Definitely a highlight of the whole trip experience.

We're traveling in October and are so excited. Always wanted to see Turkey. Can anyone tell me how the Road Scholar Voyages to Antiquity trips differ from just booking directly with Voyages to Antiquity. Just curious.
Holly Fisher Mar 25, 2013 at 02:35 PM

We travelled with Road Scholar on VtoA cruise last year. It was great so we decided to book this one for Oct. We considered VtoA directly since it was less expensive even more for us since we had a repeat customer discount. After much thought and research, we decided to again book with Road Scholar. We really liked the thought of one guide from start to finish. The person we had last year was wonderful. We also felt that the pre and post options on Road Scholar were more inclusive. The talks that our guides did on board were fantastic. And, as we have found in the past, the people we were traveling with were great - very interesting and interested in learning.

I was just thinking, I'd love a little time while in Wadi Rum to ride a camel.
Yvonne Moody Mar 24, 2013 at 01:48 PM

Have you ever smelled a camel?
Joanne Pernice Mar 24, 2013 at 03:00 PM

Rode a camel in India-it was fun. Wouldn't mind doing it again
Mary Davis Mar 24, 2013 at 06:45 PM

Joanne, it looks like our schedule is pretty tight but if the opportunity arises, I hope you will join me. I would also like to see a Blue Agama lizard, from that region.
Jane Schmidt Mar 24, 2013 at 08:40 PM

I rode a camel at the zoo once. I'm game.

I'd be happy to join you riding camels, too, if there's a chance. Good idea!
Web Heidelberg Mar 29, 2013 at 05:57 PM

Wife Michelle and I would love to ride a camel, and also a balloon. Let's try to scheule it. ---Web and Michelle Heidelberg.

Yvonne Moody Mar 24, 2013 at 12:36 PM

Does anyone else think it would be a really super treat to be able to take a balloon ride over the Nile? Let's ask!
Jane Schmidt Mar 24, 2013 at 08:40 PM

Not after the last one burned up over Luxor.
Yvonne Moody Mar 29, 2013 at 09:48 PM

But I think that would make the ballooner extra safety conscious!
