EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

I'll be taking the "Four Great Migrations" program in Cambria, CA 1/27-1/1/13. Wondering if anyone else is arriving at San Luis Obispo airport on Jan. 27 and interested in sharing cost of transportation to program site. If so, contact me at nancyc818@yahoo.com

Please preview http://bit.ly/rL7oaa ... I’ve been monitoring the reports of returning monarchs quite closely this spring. The pattern of the return this year is similar to that seen in 2006 but more exaggerated, with more monarchs moving into the mid latitudes (35-42N) than in any previous April (see Journey North’s first sighting reports).

Learn more about North America's Central Flyway Pollinator Habitats: Monarch Watch strives to provide the public with information about the biology of monarch butterflies, their spectacular migration, and how to use monarchs to further science education in primary and secondary schools. We engage in research on monarch migration biology and monarch population dynamics to better understand how to conserve the monarch migration. We also promote protection of monarch habitats throughout North America. I didn't find online evidence of registered Monarch Watch waystations near this SoCal-USA CVB destination: http://www.monarchbutterfly.org/grove.htm

We're flying into San Francisco (SFO) from Kansas City (MCI) so we may preview this Monarch-friendly organization: Butterfly Encounters is encouraging everyone to plant milkweed seeds for the monarch butterfly. The caterpillar stage of the monarch butterfly feeds on milkweed plants. As land is developed and milkweed populations diminish, the monarch butterflies habitat is lost. We can rebuild this habitat by planting milkweed seeds in our gardens. There are over 100 types of milkweed and we pride ourselves on offering as many species as possible. I have something to mail to Bruce, but don't have his contact information. If someone has it, but is reluctant to share, I'll send through anyone who can deliver. Bruce has relatives in Lamar, CO and asked us "what goes on there?" I have a couple of emails listing hot spots and bird lists from the recent Snow Goose Festival that is held there every year!
