I am traveling with another female friend and we are a little concerning about maneuvering Paris on the evenings we are on our own for dinner and also for the afternoon we are free for sight-seeing. Anyone feeling more comfortable than we are who might be willing to let us join them ?? Grace Metro, Donna Warford

Noreen Wingham Apr 18, 2013 at 02:59 PM

Hi Maureen, it is your roommate responding. Got an email message you were seeking contact. Two ways: one email nwingham@cox.net OR on Road Scholar Discussion Board where you wrote in January. Let's chat, okay? The time is drawing nyer and nyer. Egad!

Maureen Heyder Apr 16, 2013 at 09:57 AM

How do I contact my roommate Noreen Wingham?
Maureen Heyder

Noreen Wingham Apr 11, 2013 at 06:53 PM

Message for Maureen Heyder: Hello Roomie
Just received the docs from Cunard telling me we'll be sharing. Hopefully we won't get in trouble with the two names being so similar--Maureen and Noreen
think?
Welcome to Dennis and spouse (what's your name) From what state do you hail?
Anybody thinking about the WhiteStarLuggage business as offered in the back of the Cunard Pre-Voyage pamphlet?

Dennis McCarthy Mar 26, 2013 at 10:50 PM

My husband, Dennis, and I will be on the May 29th trip. Can't wait! I look forward to cooking and he looks forward to eating.

Noreen Wingham Mar 03, 2013 at 08:12 PM

Haven't heard from any potential room mates, yet. Do we know how many are registered for this 'small group'?
Thanks Diane and Grace for responding.
diana p Mar 03, 2013 at 10:22 PM

Based on the what I can in the area called pricing and airfare options - we are not 100% booked. I was told our group size would be 24 if fully booked.

Noreen Wingham Feb 28, 2013 at 04:23 PM

I'm a newby to this DisBoard so I'll say HELLO. This is my 7th Elderhostel; however, most were in the late 90's. Just had to go to Paris once more and learn more about Julia's interests - what more could I check off my bucket list. I am looking for a roommate who doesn't snore too loudly - my hearing is acute but, sadly, nothing else is.
Reading: did not quite understand the dress code on the QMII. Is it 'dressing for dinner'? Will the same black outfit be suitable? I'll pass on the elbow length gloves.
May I hear from any of you?
diana p Mar 01, 2013 at 10:08 AM

Hi noreen - this will be my first trip with road scholar. I believe something black will work just fine. Myself I am bringing black pants with lots of diferent tops and a lightweight dressy long skirt set. I like to pack light so that's what I'll be wearing. No ballgowns for me though they do suggest it.
Grace Metro Mar 02, 2013 at 10:27 AM

Hi Noreen. My friend (donna) and I will be going on this trip but don't plan to attend the formal events. Like Diana, we plan to bring black slacks and several different tops. I don't think anyone is going to be paying much attention if we wore the same outfit more than once. I am going to learn and to meet some nice people and will find the trip a success if that happens. Looking forward to meeting you.
Roseann Camardo Apr 24, 2013 at 11:03 AM

Hi all. I'm Diana P's roommate, Roseann. We're from the Orlando, FL area. I called Cunard and they suggested a long skirt to mix with dressy tops for the formal attire. Like Diana, I'll be wearing the same black skirt with different dressy tops. I have knee/ankle/feet issues, so no heels for me. Oh well! Looking forward to a fun trip and meeting everyone.

diana p Jan 28, 2013 at 03:14 PM

my friend Roseann and myself are going on the may 29th julia child trip.
Grace Metro Jan 30, 2013 at 07:54 AM
