Took the trip last fall with Sarah McDowell. Have a write-up of the trip I'd be glad to share. Fleur is a good ship.

Has anyone been on a trip on the Fleur? Is it pretty 'barebones' or nicer? Any info would be appreciated!
Sarah McDowell Feb 03, 2015 at 04:24 PM

Ellen, My daughter and I went on this trip last fall, and I can't say enough good things about it! The barge was charming, the food was terrific, the sites where we stopped were very interesting, and the leadership was more than could be expected. I do hope you enjoy your trip...I'm certain you will. Sarah M.

I would love hear from others who are on the August 8 trip. I'll be aboard along with friends and family.

My daughter( adult) and I( retired) will be taking the Barging on the Seine trip this Oct. 3- and are so excited about it. We'll be spending a week before the cruise in Chinon and Paris. I'd love to hear from others who are going on this trip, and see if we could share some ideas, maybe a meal at that time, if you're also going early. We're both musicians, and she's also a sculptor, so this trip will be especially meaningful to her.

So glad you are going. I'll be on the August 8th trip. When my travel journal with pictures is complete, I'll send it along to you.

I'm boarding Le Fleur on August 9, 2014 in Montargis and looking forward to this wonderful barge trip. I would love others who are going at the same time to join this discussion board. I live in Framingham, MA, am a librarian and an enthusiastic photographer. I've been on a river cruise in Russia a few years ago and am looking forward to the more intimate and slow moving barge experience. I'd love to hear from others who are going. Best, Barbara Slavin

Barbara, how was the trip? I'm signed up for June 13th trip. I'd love to hear your impressions

I just came back from my first Road Scholar trip- Voyages to Antiquity: Cairo to Athens. They found a roomate for me and we were fine. This trip doesn't offer finding a roomate and the single supplement is more than the program! So, just thought I'd see if anyone were interested in sharing a room. I'm a retired English teacher who also paints watercolors and does some free lance writing. I don't smoke and would prefer someone who also doesn't smoke. Otherwise, I'm open. We aren't in our rooms that much anyway...

hi, I am embarking on my second voyage this November with the Aegean Odessy in a single accomodation, but my first was sharing on the Queen Mary II. your interest in barging in France mirrors mine and i would be interested in communicating with someone who wishes to share. I have lived in France and have visited it several times since. I am retired so time is not a difficulty and if I were to be in France for a barge tour it would be nice to stay on for a week in Nice renting from AirBNB. you really don't need a car as the public transport there is inexpensive and easy to use. Local buses cost E1.00 and trains go frequesntly along the coast from Cannes to Ventimiglia/Genoa. looking forward to hearing from you, Sheila Frank from Chicago.

When I searched for this program, I was unable to find it. Do you have the program number for it?
