I heard a report this morning that Berlin is experiencing a strike by the couriers who deliver cash to ATMs. Many, or most, ATMs are empty, and there's no idea when the strike might end. I should think taking dollars to change might be a good idea.

Maybe we can get a good rate for dollara at the local banks. But the airport will only have ATMs. Hope that strike is over. And the rail strike should be over by next week too. Diane

I would expect that many places will accept credit cards, but not all, as we've discovered in France.

Diane Tomczak Apr 15, 2015 at 01:16 PM

Hi Alan and Valerie. Are you attending the Berlin Philharmonic for the violin concert? We are staying at the Hampton by Hilton Berlin City West. Maybe we can exchange cell phones and be in contact for that day. Thanks. Diane Tomczak
Alan Fielding Apr 15, 2015 at 11:40 PM

Yes, we're attending the Berlin Philharmonic concert May 21. We're staying at the Leonardo Royal. My email address is afielding@telusplanet.net. We can exchange cell phone numbers closer to the date. We're going to be in Switzerland from May 13 - 21 and I'm going to look into getting a European SIM card.

We are spending 2 days in Berlin before the program. And after the RS program we are going to Prague for 3 more days. Are any other persons adding to the program? Diane Tomczak
Alan Fielding Apr 15, 2015 at 11:16 AM

We're arriving a day early to take in a concert on May 21, and will be flying to Paris after the program.

Alan Fielding Apr 14, 2015 at 12:08 PM

This program starts in a little over a month. I'd be interested in hearing from other participants as to their interests and plans for concerts during the trip.

Will you be offering this program in June or July of 2016?

Anyone going on UA flight 124 10/22 Newark to Berlin? Also would like info on Ballet tickets in Dresden. Tours of Jewish Berlin are done by a company called Milk and Honey--does anyone know anything about them or interested in doing the tour?

Brigitte Bower Sep 24, 2014 at 07:27 PM

Is anyone from California going on the 10/22 trip?

For participants in the Sept 12-24 tour. You might want to check out the exhibition at the Berlin State Museum near our hotel. It is supposed to be a wonderful new show about the Vikings, opening on Sept 10th. Tickets are available online and entrance time is set on ticket. Rose Marie Beston
