Kathy, this will be my 4th year to TCBS, working in a second grade class. I bring a favorite children's story and supplementary material for them to color. Last year I conducted a brief Tai Chi class!

My friend and I are going to Cameron, AZ for this program. We re-scheduled from last fall. We'd like some ideas of what you did while volunteering at the schools.

I went to Cameron Oct.2015 & was assigned to a 4th grade class..helped individual students during math & interacted with all students, even helped design a bulletin board..just be flexible and friendly & have fun.

Eleanor, am looking forward to the Navajo program in early March as well - this will be my third year. Contact me by e/m: c.bonnar@comcast.net and I'd be happy to tell you about the program and transportation info

Carol, we will be going in October to an intermediate school . Hopefully traveling by train to Flagstaff. What kinds of things did you do in the schools?
carol bonnar May 19, 2015 at 12:45 PM

Kathy, just found your post. I worked only in the Tuba City elementary school. Being from Boston I recanted some local history, read Make Way for Ducklings and conducted a brief Tai Chi program for 2nd graders - great fun!
