Anyone know anything about the email list for this trip?

Marge Ginsberg Nov 03, 2015 at 05:35 PM

Going on this trip Nov. 7th. Anyone else signed up for it?

Roberta Hung Oct 05, 2015 at 11:15 AM

I enrolled for the Nov. 5-14, 2016 dates. My concern is the final day, when the bus lets us off at McCarran Airport by 11:15am. Based on past flight schedules, there are flights out of Las Vegas to Boston leaving at 1pm, so it is mandatory that I get to the airport by 11am. Would NAU schedule earlier breakfast and departure that last day?

last year we had bus trouble and get to the airport later than expected. maybe you need to fly back a day later.

Thanks, Judy, that's great info that explains the schedule.

The Saguaro National Monument on Day 2 is a wonderful outdoor natural "museum" of wonderful cacti. Depending on when you are going, they may in bloom. I had visited there before and there are many trails to explore on your own. If you are going early to the program, this would be a great thing to do on your own. The Arizona Sonora Desert Museum is also outdoors, with lots of exhibits, telling the story of desert life. The whole program is so timely, because of the drought the Southwest is experiencing. You really learn about the fragility of the landscape, what water means, and the effect it has on flora, fauna, and humans too.

I am thinking about signing up for this trip. However, in reading the daily schedule, it sounds like the first two to three days are a lot of museums and not much outdoor activity. Could someone who has taken this trip respond. Thanks.
