Road Scholar
Program #14662RJ
12 Days | 11 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Active
Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
While all of our learning adventures offer extraordinary value, our "Best Value" programs were rated by our participants themselves who thought their dollar went particularly far.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Also, read that Beaumarchais is above a noisy nightclub? Anyone else have a problem there?

Peggy Bagwell Feb 20, 2015 at 10:59 AM

Hi, I am Peggy. David and I aare going on this trip in May. We plan to stay an extra 4 days at end of trip. Anyone else doing that? Trying to decide whether to stay in hotel, get an appartment, etc. Any advice? Flying out of Dulles on May 16th. See you all there.
Cyrelle Gerson Feb 28, 2015 at 02:56 PM

I am also going in May and staying a few days after with a French friend. Sorry I can't help with suggestions of where to stay, but have you considered visiting an area outside of Paris, such as the Loire Valley?

Mary Lou Murray Jan 21, 2015 at 02:29 PM

I signed up for the April 10th trip as a single since husband cannot go. Are there any other single ladies out there who are going?
Vicky Davison Jan 25, 2015 at 02:09 AM

I am going on my own as well Mary Lou. I live in Australia but of English origin and will be travelling from London to join the group in Paris. Look forward to meeting you. Vicky

Great! You are really traveling a long distance. I look forward to meeting you. I will fly non-stop to Paris from Dallas. What time do you arrive in Paris?
Vicky Davison Feb 07, 2015 at 06:38 PM

Mary Lou Murray Jan 01, 2015 at 01:54 PM

Is anyone from Dallas going on the April 10, 2015 trip?
Mary Lou Murray Jan 01, 2015 at 02:38 PM

And, please, if others have been in April, is it cold and are the flowers blooming in the gardens?

Hi Betty,
I am arriving the 4th at Villa BEAUMARCHAIS,
i have no idea what the dress code is
This is my first trip with Road Scholar. maybe someone
in the group can help me decide what to pack "HELP"
See all of you very soon,
Lily

We are also packing and leaving tomorrow. We are facing similar issues. Generally Road Scholar trips are pretty casual. We looked more at the weather than dressing elegance. Paris is going to be in the high 70s and the coast is going to be cooler, in the mid 60s. Our rule of thumb is to layer, pack light, have washable clothes, with maybe one slightly dressy outfit. My wife has been asking me "does this match with this top and these pants", "what about this outfit", etc. Relax and we should have a great time.
