14 Days | 13 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Active
Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

To those on the current trip, are you having any problems? We have slight concern with the unrest in the Ukraine?

Jane Krause Jul 25, 2014 at 11:43 AM

Looking forward to meeting my fellow travelers. We live in venice Florida so I guess I have to buy winter clothes if the travelers on the trip before us could make comments and suggestions to help prepare or what they missed. I will be following this discussion board.. How much money...what buying tips etc. thanks
Susan Scholl Jul 25, 2014 at 04:08 PM

It depends on when youyr going. We go 8-14-8-26, we just ordered Rubles from our bank we are taking a debit card just for this trip so we don't have to worry about our bank account being hacked. I plan to take 2 pr slacks and capris to wear, we will also take a light jacket. We are looking foward to our trip.

Clyde Weiss Jul 19, 2014 at 11:48 PM

Hello, Clyde and Donna Weiss from Alexandria VA will be on this trip (Sept. 3). We are arriving in advance, on Aug. 31. If anyone else is arriving early and would like to get together, please let us know. We will be staying at a hotel near Nevsky Prospeck, downtown, then transferring to the group hotel on the scheduled group arrival date. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

My husband and I will be making our first Road Scholar trip, the Russian riverboat trip beginning 8-14-14. Will we receive a final trip information packet which includes information about tour guides and fellow travelers?
Susan Sumeri Jul 14, 2014 at 10:24 PM

Patricia, this is a trip I took 2 years ago - you need to check with Road Scholar. You should have it soon if not already.
Susan Scholl Jul 15, 2014 at 03:37 PM

87-15 I just got a letter about a change in hotels i called RS today and asked when we would get our final details, a nice man Mike said he'd check in to it and call me. We leave from KCMO to Chicage to Frankfort to St Petersburg

Jane Krause Jul 11, 2014 at 03:49 PM

Tim& I are going the 8-14-8-26 trip. Are capris ok for ladies? Do we need to dress for dinner each night or can I wear capris? Is a cell phone really needed? we don't have one
Susan Sumeri Jul 11, 2014 at 04:53 PM

Susan, We did the trip 2 years ago and many of us ladies wore capris - very suitable. The only dinner we dressed for (sort of) was the last dinner. Cell phones not needed. Internet service was poor - didn't expect it on the boat but even at the hotels.
Susan Scholl Jul 12, 2014 at 04:36 PM

thank you
Susan Scholl Jul 12, 2014 at 04:37 PM

John Moreschi Jun 23, 2014 at 11:55 AM

We will be doing this trip in September, 2014. If there is anyone else from CT or Western Mass, perhaps we could get a limo to Boston or New York. The alternative is leaving a car at the airport ($$$) or connecting from Hrtfd (time consuming & $$).

Susan Sumeri Jun 20, 2014 at 03:09 PM

We had Violeta as our guide in June 2012. She is fantastic - so much knowledge. She found tickets for us (our group) to a special concert in an art museum that was now on the agenda - a free evening. You will like her. She's a former professor or teacher.
Walter Gray Jun 21, 2014 at 06:40 PM

Thanks, Susan. Good to know. We've found RS tour staff almost uniformly outstanding.
