I received a call from RS yesterday afternoon and was glad to hear that everyone, including me, still wants to go. Hotel changes sometimes occur, and I'm not worried about that. Since I'm arriving in Paris on the 13th and had originally booked two extra nights at the first hotel through RS, I've asked them to now switch me to the new hotel. Still flying home on the 26th as originally planned. See you all soon in Paris!

Good morning, no one from RS contacted me, but I am going. If I was afraid of terrorists I wouldn't go to NYC, Boston, Oklahoma City, Denver or many other places. I'm planning on a great trip. I was surprised about the hotel change. Not sure which hotel I will stay in 12/26th to 31st. See you soon. Lynn

I just got a call from Road Scholar reassuring me that they felt it was safe and asking whether I still planned on taking the trip. I told them if Road Scholar was running the trip I was going! Road Scholar rep told me that of the people she had contacted (I was one of the last) everyone was still planning on going. Obviously we are a great group of intrepid travelers!

I'm with you, Elli

I'm with you, Ellin! I'm even more determined to go, and support our French Friends in the process. See you there! Eileen

Good morning Eileen, my husband and I traveled to Italy in 2009, he became ill and had to return home after 4 days. I finished the rest of the trip, 10 days, with the tour group.

This is the first time I will be traveling alone. I have never been to England or France. I am leaving on Dec. 8th for London and touring there alone until Dec. 14th when I will take the Eurostar to Paris to meet up with the Road Scholar group. After the Joyeux Nol tour I plan to take the the train from Marseilles back to Paris, alone, and see more of the City. I will fly home on Dec. 31st. I figure as long as I'm traveling so far I might as well stay and see as much as I can.

I am a weaver and plan to visit at least one, maybe more, yarn shops in London and Paris. I also LOVE food; I've been watching "I'll have what Phil's having" so hope to try some of the restaurants in Paris mentioned on the show.

I look forward to meeting you and having a delightful Joyeux Nol tour.

Hello Lynn, I admire your courage, determination and freedom of spirit. I have never been to England, but I have been to France twice and never wanted to come home. I think you'll love it.

Lynn Young Oct 18, 2015 at 12:22 PM

Hello Eileen, glad you are joining us for this trip. I'm looking to the food and the holiday inspired crafts we will see.
Eileen Mance Oct 20, 2015 at 12:51 AM

Hi Lynn, It sounds as though you have done this before. Have you? Are you traveling alone? This is my first time traveling to Europe without a companion and I'm a bit uncomfortable about it.

Eileen Mance Oct 17, 2015 at 05:05 PM

Would love to talk to others who are going on this trip.

Greetings Travelers: Well, we see a few names planning this vacation. Please post would like to "get to know" others. It's almost time to officially get excited about this awesome Holiday time. Can't wait!

Lynn Young Aug 30, 2015 at 08:47 PM

Hello Ellin, I am flying to London on Dec. 8th then taking the train to Paris on Dec. 13th to join the Road Scholar group. Dec. 26th I am taking the train back to Paris. I am not flying out of Paris until Dec 31st. What time on Dec.26th do you plan to take the train to Paris? What Hotel do you plan to stay in in Paris? I was thinking about Villa Beaumarchis again because it is fairly close to the railroad and I am flying out of De Gaulle on the 31st. Lynn Young, Weatherford, TX
Joan Ilstrup Aug 31, 2015 at 01:18 PM

Please see my reply to your earlier post about Dec.13th arrival in Paris.
Ellin Ifft Sep 01, 2015 at 11:42 AM

I've decided to fly as about the same cost and quicker. I have made reservations for 3 more days at Villa Beaumarchais leaving Dec. 29. Sounds like we will have a great group. Looking forward to meeting you.
mary alice taylor Nov 17, 2015 at 07:41 AM

Note: Villa Beaumarchais is nolonger r arrival hotl. U received i late lasst week. We r planning to keep r reservation at VM on Dec 26-28.
Ellin Ifft Nov 17, 2015 at 01:34 PM

I also decided to keep my Dec. 26-29 at Villa Beaumarchais. Wonder why RS changed (I just received notification today) but will be nice to have a different area to explore.
