Who's going on Trip 14253?

So far I have read 2 of the books on the Recommended Reading list. Timeline by Michael Crichton which mixes action and suspense in an dual universe sort of way. Also The Road for the Past by Ina Caro whose several chapters on Southwest France are very informative and reflect her love of all things French. Both are great reads and have me pumped for the trip. Paul, I would be interested in your experiences, thoughts and impressions of this trip. Thanks and have a great time!

My wife and I usually post program reviews so keep looking in early June after we return. Paul

Today it was 75 degrees and sunny in Bordeaux. That would be a great way to start the program on May 10.

Looking forward to some sun and wine. Last June my wife and I took the ABP tour, Amsterdam, Brussels and Paris and it was cold and wet. Are you on lthe current session of the Southwest France tour? Paul Wisniewski
Susan Roos Apr 18, 2013 at 11:02 AM

Yes, I am on the May 9 SW France tour. Getting excited now that departure is only 3 weeks away. Sunny Roos

Hi, My husband and I are very new to Road Scholar and are looking towards booking a program for 2014. We are interested in a program in Southern France, that includes Sarlat and Bordeaux. We see 2 programs - one land, the other on a river vessel. I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who has gone on either program, to get thoughts and impressions. We have been on 2 river cruises (Deilmann and AMA) and loved them. I'd like some information on the river vessels RS uses. Thanks so much! I appreciate any information offered!

Dave McIntyre, wine writer for the Washington Post, had a column on March 19th on wines of Southwestern France. Although the wines aren't all made from the 5 "noble" grapes, he wrote we would have some tasty choices. Unfortunately there was only one Maryland retailer listed for the wines he reviewed. Maybe you will have better luck in your area. Go to washingtonpost.com, search Dave McIntrye for the article, and click 5 wines to try for his recommendations. Looking forward to the trip and wines! My husband and I are considering this program especially to see the caves. If you have taken this trip, I would love to hear your opinion of it - pros and cons. I've been on 6 Road Scholar trips so far, and they were all good. My husband enjoys the lectures in particular, are the tour guides very good? Thanks for your help.
