Hello, I'm going on the trip that starts May 27th. I'm very excited about taking my first RS trip and going to France for the first time. I'd love to hear from others who are going!

I'm wondering if the very high airfare added to the basic cost is going to come down? Apparently all the airlines are reducing their fares because of the lower oil prices.

I'm on the Brittany/Normandy tour beginning Oct 2. This is my first visit to this region of France. I plan on staying a few extra days in Paris at the end of the trip to see more Paris sites and take a day trip to Chartres Cathedral. Anyone taking this tour? I live in Davis and leave from San Francisco airport on Oct 1.

I'm Dick Matthews, and my wife, Val, and I are going to Brittany/Normandy in Sept. We're from San Rafael, CA, near San Francisco. First Road Scholar trip.
Susan Goslin Jul 04, 2015 at 03:32 PM

Hi Dick and Val, I'm traveling with Ann (from Michigan) and Kate (from Kentucky), we met on a Road Scholar trip to Wales in 2011 and we've traveled with RS several times since then as well as independently. I'm really looking forward to Brittany and Normandy, hope you like RS. I'm from Georgia.
Richard Matthews Sep 02, 2015 at 06:01 PM

Susan - we're leaving tomorrow (9/3), getting in a day early to try and acclimate to Europe time zone. Probably won't work. See you in Brest.

Friends and I are going on the September Brittany/Normandy trip. Who else is going then? How was the one in May?

Michael Massengill Apr 14, 2015 at 07:08 PM

Hi Roger and Bonnie. Thanks for posting replies. We are beginning to focus on preparations for the trip and are getting excited. Looking forward to meeting you, Janet, and Maggie. Roger and Maggie, Glad to know you've had good experiences with RS. We are getting excited as the time approaches. Ann hasn't been to this part of France since she was a student in college. She has the job of speaking French when needed, while I am more fluent in wine and cheese. Anyone else from the May '15 Brittany/Normandy trip checking this forum?

Bonnie Mc Lachlan Apr 07, 2015 at 01:47 PM

Will be on the May 8-23 Brittany/Normandy tour with my friend Janet. We live in Avon, CT, and are departing from JFK. We both love France and have visited several times before, including Normandy, but it is absolutely worth another visitn

Ann and I are getting excited about our first Road Scholar trip, the May Brittany/Normandy. We are recently retired teachers from the Seattle area. This will be our fourth time in France, but first in this region. I hope this is the best place to post for pre-tour introductions. Anyone else checking in here who will be traveling with us?
Roger Hinkle Apr 05, 2015 at 03:11 PM

Hello Michael- Brittany/Normandy May '15 will be Maggie's and my fifth RS tour. We cannot praise RS enough! Brittany/Normandy is the last part of France that we have not visited. We fly from Tucson to Atlanta to Paris and on to Brest. We look forward to meeting you and Ann.
