Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

There is an excellent video in the New York Times about lemon farmers on the Amalfi coast and an article also. See

My husband and I will be joining this program in Sorrento on May 21 after completing program #18206 "Italian Classics: Rome, Florence, Venice" followed by 3 days on our own using Florence as our base. We hope to visit Siena, San Gimignano, Pisa and Lucca. Any advice from others who have been to these places would be welcome.

We love Road Scholar trips and have been to Argentina, Antarctica, China, Botswana, Zambia, Ecuador, Galapagos and Peru on previous RS trips. Looking forward to Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast. The Amalfi Coast is my daughter's favorite place to visit -- she saw a painting of it and booked her first trip!
See you all soon!

My wife and I are going on the May 20 Amalfi / Sorrento program, flying to Naples from Seattle. Others going on the program may be interested in a extensive article on Pompeii in the April 21 New York Times. See http://www.nytimes.com/video/2013/04/20/world/europe/100000002182319/pompeii-falling-from-grace.html
There is also an excellent video on the NYT web site about problems faced in preserving Pompeii. If that link does not work, search on the NYT web site for "Pompeii Falling from Grace."

Thanks for both links. We had a wonderful time on the same trip in April, but loved re-visiting the lemon growers, and all that lemoncello!
