I depart SFO at 6 am May 4 and arrive Pisa 12:40 PM May 5 on United. I would very much like to join other arriving people and the airport for transport to hotel. Don't know if that can be worked out. I hope so.

Is anyone going May 4-15? From there I'll go to Berlin for May 15-24, spending 1st 2 days on my own before my group from Berkeley, CA arrives. Anyone else doing either trip?
Kenneth Nelson Apr 15, 2014 at 06:34 PM

We are coming in a day earlier for the May 4th trip as we leave SFO at night and arrive in Pisa the next night. Will meet the arriving people at the airport. Looking forward to this part of Italy.

Registered for the June 15th trip. Coming from the Paris trip and using Easy Jet out of Orly. Anyone used them before?
Also traveling from Pisa or La Spezia after.

Thanks for the responses to my query about this trip. Do you know if it how it compares to the other Cinque Terre trip? That one is shorter and it looks like it might be more strenuous.
Barbara Cross Jan 18, 2014 at 01:59 PM

I don't know how it compares but cannot imagine a better trip. Jane Bacon makes the trip, however. Be sure she is your guide. There is a lot of leeway in how active you can be. Some chose to walk a lot, others very little. It would not be good for a wheelchair or walker. Try to go at low tourist season. June was too crowded for my taste in the 5 towns. Leirci was. Wonderful ! Great place to stay with room views of the gorgeous harbor and castle and town.

Went last September. Do note that you do not stay in any of the 5 Cinque Terre villages, but in a charming seaside town of Lerici.
You do go over to see all 5 villages (by bus, train and ferry!) but to actually hike the paths from one village to another, you must take a bus and a train (neither one too long a trip, but involved). Frankly, they were quite touristy; and I would not trade the incredible experiences we had instead -- museums, a great winery tour and dinner, wonderful seafood, old castles, Carrara (not to be missed!), hiking and walking on our own from Lerici to the neighboring villages. It was probably the most varied and interesting trip I've had with RS so far! Helen Cowles

We are planning to go in Oct, combined with a longer trip to Tuscany, but haven't signed up yet. Anything to be aware of? we are late 50s-60s and in good shape, hikers, etc.

GO GO GO, it was the greatest experience ever!

Have just changed my itinerary to fly from Chicago. Would like to be in touch with others on that flight. British Air #294, leaving Chicago Sept 15, @5:15 p. m.
Helen Cowles Sep 06, 2013 at 01:47 PM

Anybody on this flight? Helen Cowles

Five of us are flying out of Chicago on 9/15/13. Are there any other windy city travelers on the 15th? Judi Gawlik
Helen Cowles Sep 04, 2013 at 05:55 PM

Judy: I'm leaving from Chicago on the 15th, coming from Tucson. Would like to be in touch before departure date. Helen Cowles hc71232@comcast.net
