Patricia, yes, most of at the bikes were hybrid on my day trips to paradise ride last summer, but I nabbed a great road bike that no one else wanted- carbon fiber, drop handle bars. However, the supply of bikes may ebb and flow over time.

Hello, my brothers and I will be coming on this trip in July. They have their own bikes but I am wondering about rental options. Does anyone have information about that? Thank you.
Russell Green May 24, 2015 at 10:43 PM

I believe that they have rentals at the lodge.
Bruce Moskovitz May 24, 2015 at 11:21 PM

The proprietors DO provide rentals; make sure to check with them in advance. The rentals were hybrids, so if you want something higher end, they may be able to arrange it (they get the bikes from a local shop - they don't own them).

I am attending the July 26-31st program. Driving up from PA. Was going on to Montreal for the next program but just canceled that due to a friends schedule for that portion. Never went on a biking trip like this before, looking forward to it and wondering if I can launder bike wear or if I need to by more outfits. I could pick up another rider along the way if interested. NJ or NY or PA

Russell, I did this ride last summer and really enjoyed it. Seems to me that there was a clothes line for folks who needed to do laundry, but I can't recall ever seeing a washing machine. I do recommend doing some hill work before the ride which will certainly make your trip more enjoyable!

Hi Mike and Kathy Moyer, we will be joining you and we're hoping that the fall foliage will still be brilliant. It is just starting here in Cazenovia New York. We are ready to adjust to whatever the weather has in store.

Hi! Anyone out there going to be biking with us in Paradise on the October 5-10 week? Sure hope it stays warm & dry enough! It's gotten cool fast here in MI, so bike rides are brisk!
We winter in Oro Valley near Tucson.
Looking forward to mtg our fellow bikers -- Kathy & Mike Moyer

Make sure to layer! Even during our June ride the evenings could get chilly. But the experience was wonderful! The hosts are very accommodating and the rides varied (and somewhat challenging!).

We're on the 10/5/14 trip - driving from MI and visiting New England family and friends on the way to Glen Sutton. Our 2nd RS but first biking trip although we bike a lot. Greatly looking forward to it. Any Barbershop singers in the group ?

Flying into Montreal for the 9/21/14 trip on the 20th. I'm staying at the lodge the night prior and two nights following the trip and then going to the Quebec #2746 trip on the 28th. Anyone interested in coordinating any part of this with me?

Carol Schroeder Jun 04, 2014 at 09:06 AM

Anyone else on July 20-25 trip? I'm flying into Montreal on the 19th and will take public transportation unless I can arrange for a rental car with another participant. Any body else interested?

It is a wonderful ride but I'm sorry. I biked this last year. i took a bus to ? where Stephen picked 3 of us up. I had googled a hotel which was near the bus station. I was dismayed that my French classes of 20+ years ago did not provide me any help. Have you heard about airbnb I have used it once and have recently arranged for a room in a "real house" with a person, rather than fend for myself that 1 night b4 I took the bus. Maybe NEXT YEAR, we can coordinate a trip.
