Do you know if dinner is served on the flight? The itinerary say hot meal/breakfast. Do they mean that breakfast is the hot meal?

My husband and I are join the late Nov. tour. Just received an email from the U.S. embassy in Tel Aviv warning of demonstrations and clashes in some parts of East Jerusalem. And entry restrictions into the Old City etc. If you would like to receive current travel warnings you can sign-up for the State Dept.'s Smart Travelers Enrollment Program (STEP). Sounds like there will be a heavy presence of Israel National Police outfitted in riot gear. Wow, this might be more of an adventure than we bargained for.

Thank you. I signed up for STEP. Looking forward to our trip in March. I have friends who were just there with a large group and were able to see everything on the agenda in Israel and Jordan except the Dome of the Rock. They loved it.

Jeannie D Jun 08, 2014 at 11:29 AM

Hello Regina. I went on this wonderful trip this past March - my first Road Scholar progarm and also a singel. I came from LA. This trip was so fabuouls I would highly recommend it! Being a single, I always felt taken care of and welcomed by all participants, including couples. Enjoy your experience.
Cindy & Jack Trabin Dec 06, 2014 at 02:01 PM

Hello Regina, My wife Cindy and I look forward to meeting you in Israel for the March, 2015 tour. We had great time this year in Italy tour with Road Scholar, with other couples and all solos, too. Regards, Jack and Cindy
Mary Martin Dec 15, 2014 at 11:31 AM

Hi, Regina. My friend Carol and I will be travelling together on the March tour, leaving from Jacksonville, Florida. Look forward to meeting you. I lived in the Boston area for over 30 years. We'll have a lot to chat about.

This tour is considered "moderately challenging" in terms of its activity level. We have never taken a roadscholar tour so could someone tell me how strenuous this trip was and was there much uphill/downhill walking? The equivalent of how many city blocks did one walk at one time without a break? My husband is 80 but in good shape but does not have the best balance. Thanks.
Renee Dushman Apr 28, 2014 at 06:47 PM

I am 80 also and went on this trip in October. If he takes a walking stick, he'll be fine. A 90 year old was on the trip and did everything. There are steps but you son't have to go down all the time as they give you a hearing device and you can hear everything.
Jeannie D Apr 28, 2014 at 06:52 PM

There was quite a bit of walking, uneven surfaces and some stairs, esp. in Jerusalem. The speed of the walking was not too fast. We had many folks in their 80's and they did fine.

Miriam Caplan Feb 17, 2014 at 11:00 PM

Well, that makes at least three of us. Maybe we can look for each other's name tags at the start of the tour.
melinda kough Feb 18, 2014 at 06:40 PM

Hello Melinda - got your message and yes, I know Karen S. I loved the trip this past March-my first trip and I traveled solo. Everyone was friendly whether couples or singles and I also felt welcomed and taken care of. The itinerary was excellent. We were always fairly busy and learned much. The lecturers were excellent. I highly recommend this trip.
melinda kough Jun 09, 2014 at 02:22 AM
