I just signed up for March 2015, going solo, first Road Scholar program. Would be interested how past program participants liked Israel trip, pros and cons. I live ib Boston area, by the way. Thanks, Regina

Hello Regina. I went on this wonderful trip this past March - my first Road Scholar progarm and also a singel. I came from LA. This trip was so fabuouls I would highly recommend it! Being a single, I always felt taken care of and welcomed by all participants, including couples. Enjoy your experience.

This tour is considered "moderately challenging" in terms of its activity level. We have never taken a roadscholar tour so could someone tell me how strenuous this trip was and was there much uphill/downhill walking? The equivalent of how many city blocks did one walk at one time without a break? My husband is 80 but in good shape but does not have the best balance. Thanks.

I am 80 also and went on this trip in October. If he takes a walking stick, he'll be fine. A 90 year old was on the trip and did everything. There are steps but you son't have to go down all the time as they give you a hearing device and you can hear everything.

There was quite a bit of walking, uneven surfaces and some stairs, esp. in Jerusalem. The speed of the walking was not too fast. We had many folks in their 80's and they did fine.

Miriam Caplan Feb 17, 2014 at 11:00 PM

Well, that makes at least three of us. Maybe we can look for each other's name tags at the start of the tour.

Hello Melinda - got your message and yes, I know Karen S. I loved the trip this past March-my first trip and I traveled solo. Everyone was friendly whether couples or singles and I also felt welcomed and taken care of. The itinerary was excellent. We were always fairly busy and learned much. The lecturers were excellent. I highly recommend this trip.
melinda kough Jun 09, 2014 at 02:22 AM

I will be arriving on British Air on March 3 at around 5:30 am. I'm interested to know if anyone else is arriving at around that time.

Jeannie D Jan 04, 2014 at 06:55 PM

Now that we are in 2014, I am really looking forward to my first trip to Israel and with Road Scholar. I am traveling alone and wonder if any other singles want to connect before the trip.
Miriam Caplan Jan 16, 2014 at 07:36 PM

I'm travelling alone also. Also my first Road Scholar tour! I'm coming from Vancouver by British Airwyas, arriving in Israel at 5:30 am. Also wondering if anyone else is arriving around that time. Miriam C.
Jeannie D Jan 17, 2014 at 07:01 PM

I look forward to meeting you MIriam. I arrive in the PM after 2 PM flying from Los Angeles with a stop in Europe.

I am enrolled in the Israel trip from 10/6 to 10/20/13 and am going 4 days early. Is there anyone from Chicago area on this trip?
If anyone is going early as I am perhaps if the dates are the same we can share a taxi.
If you are from the Chicago area let me know; perhaps we know each other. I live in Northbrook.
