Program #18731RJ
15 Days | 14 Nights
Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
Love to learn in a small-group setting? This collection of programs has at most 10-24 participants.
See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
If you’re looking for a more flexible schedule with ample independent time and several meals on your own, then our FLEX learning adventures are made for you.

Enrolled in the Jul 9 - Jul 23, 2015 trip with my daughter, Julie. Anyone else going then?

Cary Benson Sep 25, 2014 at 06:16 PM

Leaving next Thursday, 10/2 for Ireland from Newark airport. Anyone else on that plane?
Cary and Dirck
Dana Winslow Sep 26, 2014 at 09:20 AM

We are on the same plane you are--see you there!

Jerry Banks Sep 17, 2014 at 06:54 PM

Jean, thanks for the tip about the hop-on-hop-off bus. These are fabulous ways to see a city in a hurry.

Jean Feinstein Sep 13, 2014 at 03:44 PM

Carla: You have a free day in Dublin to spend as you wish. I suggest you take a tourist Hop On/Hop Off bus. One of the stops is at the Guinness Brewery where you can take a tour, shop, and have a free beer. No reservations are needed.
CARLA LIBERDA Sep 13, 2014 at 04:23 PM

Thanks. I appreciate the helpful details.

CARLA LIBERDA Sep 11, 2014 at 11:28 PM

We are on the tour leaving Sept 26. We would like to tour the Guinness Brewery while we are in Dublin. Do we need to make reservations ahead of time?

Thank you.

I went on the trip to Ireland from August 21 through Sept. 4. It was outstanding. You will feel renewed in the beautiful countryside where there are more sheep than people. Our speakers were outstanding and very knowledgeable. There will, of course, be rain. I can not recall anyone using an umbrella, because the wind is unpredictable. Hooded raincoats are best. Pack light. Washables work best.

Is anyone going on the Best of Ireland departing Sept. 25? My husband and I are so looking forward to this trip, and we're anxious to meet some of our fellow travelers. Anyone else on the red eye from Newark to Shannon?
Mary Jo Ward Sep 11, 2014 at 02:15 PM

There will be 4 of us from Grand Junction ,CO. Lindsay&Richard Keller ,Mary Jo and Jim Ward. We are on the 7:35 PM flight out of Newark. This should be a beautiful trip. See You there.

One more Coloradoan on this trip - I am from Fort Collins, and this is also my first Roads Scholar Trip. I will be flying in the day before Italy. Getting really excited needless to say! This week's rain and colder temperatures surely got me in the right frame of mind for packing.
Connie Werner Sep 13, 2014 at 10:38 PM

"from Italy . . . .
Jerry Banks Sep 17, 2014 at 06:53 PM

Two of us from Middletown Ohio (between Cincinnati and Dayton will be on the red-eye also.

Susan Christensen Sep 09, 2014 at 04:30 PM
