P.S. I'm in California.

Hi all, I'm enrolled in the May 27, 2014 trip and am feverishly building up my walking miles. Anyone else on this trip?

Thomas Guidugli Jan 19, 2014 at 10:57 AM

I am an avid walker, but my wife only does 2 to 3 miles a day. If one person decided not to walk, is there much for them to do ?
James Slack Jan 21, 2014 at 02:06 PM

Somedays there are offered alternatives. There is little to do locally. In The Cotswald, several of us went to the Lost Gardens of Heligan. An excellent choice. Otherwise, in the Cotswald not much else to do. In Cornwall, there were a few alternatives offered. None the less, your wife may get quite bored without a bunch of books.

Hi, My mom and I are enrolled in the sept 17 program. I live in Mammoth, CA and my mom is from Bandon, Or. Packing rain gear and hoping I never have to take it out. I always take my poles and camelback with me.

Sorry, I don't know why my name didn't come up. Jane Domaille.

My wife and I live in N/E PA and are enrolled in the Sept 17 program. Would anyone care to share with us who is going on this date.

Christine Oness Jun 09, 2013 at 01:42 AM

I'm enrolled for the tour Sept 3 to Sept 16 and looking forward to the walks. I know it will be challenging for me but I'm confident that I will be able to do.
Nancy Leafdale Aug 29, 2013 at 06:09 PM

Hi Christine, I am going on these dates. Look forward to meeting you.

James Slack May 26, 2013 at 08:16 PM

Hi, Louise!
We did this program last year and, although it is fabulous, "challenging" is a good rating for it. Although there are often options that are less strenuous, I really wouldn't recommend it for someone with bad knees. ESPECIALLY the Cornwall section, which involves a lot of steep ups & downs. Think about it: for several days we put in a hike of 5+ miles on rugged trails BEFORE LUNCH.

Louise ODonnell May 24, 2013 at 02:50 PM

I am enrolled in this trip in October. I am concerned about the difficulty, since I have arthritis in my knees. I would love people weighing in on their opinion of the trip's viability for someone like me, a moderate walker.
Lynda Ryan May 25, 2013 at 09:27 AM

Louise, I just returned from walking in this area. I am in good physical condition and went to Cornwall on my own as I knew some of these "walks" were going to be challenging. they are but I picked ones I could do (3) and in one case it's actually hiking. I would not recommend this area to anyone who has any knee/back isasues. I regularly walk 10k so I am a real walker. the area is beautiful but next time I may try the Isle of Wight as the walks are less strenuous. And I would not consider going to Cornwall in October either.

Thanks to those who have responded to my question. It has really helped me plan !
