I used Genvisa, as advised and just got my passport back with the China visa via FedEx. I happened to be home when the driver arrived and on mentioning it was my passport and did I have to sign, the driver was shocked that it was sent such that if I wasn't home, he could just leave it outside my door. That doesn't seem either secure or responsible, which was partly why we were encouraged to use Genvisa, wasn't it? Heads up to any of you who haven't already got your visa.

Hello! How do we find out how many people are going to be on our tour. Road Scholar seems to have a "rule" that precludes them from telling us how many folks will be traveling with us. They said, "more than 10, less than 20"...not very helpful...RBYoshioka

Does anyone know if a wireless router is really needed for an iphone/iPad?
Gloria Kennedy Aug 08, 2014 at 09:41 PM

A wireless router isn't needed and won't work, according to our guide.

I bought the recommended Apple AirPort Express and hopes it allows me to connect in the room.

This box is too small to proofread the whole post: I "hope"

Oops. Having some trouble navigating this site...that too shall pass...so, how many others will be on our tour #15122RJ? Thanks, RBYoshioka

Hello. R and B Yoshioka here. We are excited to join this RS tour in October and were wondering if anyone else is arriving in Beijing via China Air Flight # 996, and if so is is possible to take public transportation from the airport to the hotel? Also, what does the "buffet" offer daily on this tour? Thanks, RBYoshioka

Jeanne, Thank you so much about telling me more about the vegetarian situation. I also eat seafood , but will pass up any live squid! Of course losing a few pounds wouldn't hurt, I just hate to be a bother or make anyone feel uncomfortable. Will bring a pack of granola bars though!
Michael Thoryn Aug 03, 2014 at 05:03 PM

Our favorite was "Best of South America." There were several singles on the trip.

Laurie Stephenson Aug 03, 2014 at 07:24 AM

Michael, thanks for writing. I'm excited about the trip but a little nervous since I am going by myself. Plus, I'm a pescetarian/ vegetarian and am thinking of taking granola bars! What was your favorite trip so far?
Jeanne Heuer Aug 03, 2014 at 10:09 AM

Hello, my husband and I took this trip last fall. You should have no trouble eating. Meals are usually huge buffet affairs with many choices most of them vegetables and rice. This was true of breakfast as well. There were also fish and shellfish, not as much as I thought there would be, which was fine wih me since I don't care for fish. Also if you notfied RS that you are a vegetarian you will be given a separate meal if the food would compormise your diet. The only meal that really affected our vegetarians was the Mongolian hotpot where we all add our food to a communal pot of boiling broth. Because we added meat, those people got individual bowls. I think you will be fine. An occasional granola bar can't hurt.
