See all of our Most Popular programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Any Canadians on the 15 Apr trip,, e,g, from edmonton?

Lynda Dowling Jan 11, 2013 at 05:06 PM

I was told my another traveller who had been on this trip at this time of year that the weather was very fall like - 70's during the day and 45-50's at night. You appear to have found out the same. are you a single traveller?
Barbara Clowers Jan 14, 2013 at 06:27 PM

No. Part of a couple. How about you?
Lynda Dowling Jan 15, 2013 at 12:27 PM

No, I'm single but still like to know people I travel with. I'm from Kansas and just retired from the health field. This will be my first road scholar overseas trip and my first trip to Asia.

Barbara Clowers Jan 11, 2013 at 03:55 PM

Interested in the weather this time of year. Anyone with experience with the seasons in China. I understand its a big country and will have different temperatures and even seasons. Feedback from those who have been there?
Barbara Clowers Jan 11, 2013 at 04:29 PM

Just called the help folks. We miss the rainy season that starts in November. Highs of 71 and lows of 41. Just right for me.

Lynda Dowling Dec 09, 2012 at 01:35 PM

I am a single traveller going on the oct 7,2013 trip to china. I looking to become acquainted with other travelers going on the same trip. Anyone interested. You do not have to be a single traveller too.
Barbara Clowers Jan 11, 2013 at 03:52 PM

My husband and I are thinking about this trip. We just retired and have a "normal" cruise to Mexico planned as our first trip, then a trip to Alaska on a small boat in June. We're planning our first big overseas trip and want to go somewhere with a group where we know nothing about the place and would be lost on our own. China fits the bill. There's no sense traveling so far without staying at least three weeks and we'd rather learn than do touristy stuff so just have to check out the details. We're in Northern California. We're interested in the weather this late in the year.

Is anyone else arriving the day before?
I fly in on the 8th of October.
Barbara Clowers Mar 05, 2013 at 02:46 AM

We haven't committed yet but I will definitely want to arrive a day early.

Robert Quinn Aug 22, 2012 at 04:34 PM

Looking for a roomate October 8/9 trip.
Lynda Dowling Jan 11, 2013 at 05:08 PM

I just read your original posting. I am recently retired as well. I have been on 6 road scholar trips but this is my first overseas with them.
Barbara Clowers Mar 05, 2013 at 02:42 AM

What was the activity level for the trips you've taken? I have no problem with 3 to 5 mile hikes but may want to take it easy some days. em with 3 to 4 miles walks three times a week but am a little concerned I may need to take it easy occasionally, especially on a long trip. You think I can opt out of a morning or afternoon activity a
Barbara Clowers Mar 05, 2013 at 02:45 AM

Oops. Using an iPad and can't see the whole post and can't edit.
Lynda Dowling May 04, 2013 at 02:00 PM

Lynda Dowling May 04, 2013 at 02:03 PM

I have been on Active trips and had no problems. The walks are not all at once but spread over the day. I nap on the bus occasionally. My concern is stair climbing. I can only go about 2 flights until I have to stop and recoup. Some of the boat docks have numerous stairs without rails to get to shore. I may need someone behind to push me up.
