15 Days | 14 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Active
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

I am arriving in Venice from Denver via Philadelphia for the 6/26 trip. This is my 2nd RS trip--first time going to Europe. Look forward to hearing from others who are going at this time. Barbara

I am very much looking forward to this program begining on June 11. This will be my first RS program. I have heard nothing but good things about RS and am confident that I will meet many interesting people. I will be traveling alone from Chicago and wondered if there would be anyone else traveling from this area to JFK and on to Venice.

We are Rans and Martha Bratton from Santa Cruz, CA. We're flying SF, NY, Athens. We're trying to figure out how to communicate with our program advisors online. Anybody figured that out? We're looking at purchasing tickets for the Guggenheim and Accademia for Monday, May 6, and wonder if we should just go ahead and do this now online. Really looking forward to that Croatian wine!

A suggestion: After logging in, go to "My Account", then go to "My Messages" then click on "Send message to Road Scholar". I hope that will work for you! See you in Athens in just two weeks!!
Martha Bratton Apr 10, 2013 at 02:13 PM

thanks, Barbara. We look forward to meeting you.

thanks, Barbara. We look forward to meeting you.

Kay Thompson Apr 01, 2013 at 11:55 PM

Received final packet and flight info and cruise info today. Appears to be 2 other RS folks on our Amsterdam to Athens flight.

Barbara Williams Apr 01, 2013 at 07:54 AM

We received flight information last week. Has anyone received their "Final Information Packet" from Road Scholar? It should include final itinerary, arrival instructions, staff biographies, luggage tags and a name tag.
Barbara Williams Apr 01, 2013 at 03:45 PM

Just spoke with Road Scholar. Final Information was sent out last week and might take as long as two weeks to arrive. Today, I received information from "Voyages to Antiquity", but everyone should also receive information from Road Scholar.

Also looking forward to this trip and meeting fellow particpants. We (Kay and Gary Thompson)are flying from Minneapolis to Amsterdam and then to Athens on Delta. Anyone else on that flight?

Sharel Wallace Mar 04, 2013 at 04:57 PM

Looking forward to this trip and meeting all of you. Rich & I live in Fredericksburg Va. and this is my 31st RS trip. We have participated in many intergenerational as well as travel abroad. We will be flying out of Dulles, to Paris, and then on to Athens.
Barbara Williams Mar 05, 2013 at 07:16 AM

Thanks for joining the discussion. Hope it will be a great trip. Do you have any travel or packing tips?
Sharel Wallace Mar 05, 2013 at 09:38 PM

Barbara, I suggest you follow the RS directions on packing as much as possible. I always pack in my carry on bag a change for 2 days. I learned the hard way, my luggage arrived on the 3rd day in India. Another tiny hint, if you are planning to do any hand washing along the way, dont need laundry soap, shampoo works great. It's alway available in the hotel or aboard the ship. Pack light.
