Re: Ilga's comment on April 02. Are you saying that when you flew back to Reykjavik on a small local airline, your luggage went separately on the bus, so you didn't have to worry about weight restrictions on the small plane? That would be a BIG help.
Joyce Keay Apr 11, 2014 at 04:31 PM

I'd like the answer to that also.

Kate Simpson Apr 08, 2014 at 04:52 PM

Just got my Final Information Packet and noticed that there are at least 2 other people leaving on Flight 670 from Denver, as am I. If you would identify yourselves, maybe we could meet at the airport?

Barbara Rydlander Apr 07, 2014 at 12:26 PM

Have just signed up for Aug. 2014 trip and hope to go via Seattle. that is overnight flight and maybe hard to begin full day of touring on arrival. Anyone who has done Seattle flight please advise.
Will and Gale Layman Apr 07, 2014 at 07:29 PM

We will be going on the trip in May. We'll fly Santa Ana, CA to Seattle then Seattle to KEF. Figure to get, maybe, three hours sleep. But, the next day doesn't look too strenuous at all. I'll try to remember to give you a post after we get back.

Ilga Manko Apr 02, 2014 at 10:37 PM

Our luggage went back on the bus during the night. there was no
mention of restrictions. A well planned trip indeed. You will love it.
Will and Gale Layman Apr 02, 2014 at 11:28 PM

As my grandchildren would say: "that totally makes sense.

Will and Gale Layman Apr 02, 2014 at 02:42 PM

Will and Gale Layman will be there. We are from Newport Beach, CA. No snow here.
Joyce Keay Apr 02, 2014 at 03:33 PM

Which month will you be going?
Will and Gale Layman Apr 02, 2014 at 11:29 PM

May 11- 22. Can't wait.

Kate Simpson Feb 21, 2014 at 01:41 PM

Shy? Busy? Snowbound? Is there anyone else at all going on the May tour?
Sandra Grove Mar 25, 2014 at 12:13 PM

Hi, yes there are 2 of us from Michigan going May 11th. Hopefully we won't be still snowbound in Mich. by then!
Kate Simpson Mar 25, 2014 at 01:37 PM

Hi, Sandra! It's a relief to know there will be at least 3 of us going in the merry month of May. i look forward to meeting you.

Kate Simpson Feb 01, 2014 at 03:13 PM

I’m checking a lightweight suitcase with wheels that’s about the same size as Joyce describes and carrying on a small wheeled tote. If the tote weighs too much when I finish packing it, I’ll use a very small non-wheeled one instead, because the weight limit for carry-ons on the domestic flight within Iceland is 13 lbs. I am assuming there are no additional restrictions on carry-on bags for the bus part of the trip.
Joyce Keay Feb 01, 2014 at 04:11 PM

Hi, That was very important information that the weight limit for carry-ons on the domestic flight within Iceland is just 13 lb. I did not know that and I do not think it is in our Information Packet. Thank you very much for posting that. I had asked about luggage restrictions during the program and I was assured there are none although I did not ask specifically about carry-ons.

Joyce Keay Jan 31, 2014 at 06:38 PM

I'm curious about what others may be using for luggage for this trip. The information packet suggests a small, lightweight suitcase with wheels, but I think I am going to check one bag that is just a little larger than carry-on size and take a backpack with me on the plane. Given the fact that the temps will be in the low 50s and possibly rainy, I want to be warm and dry. I welcome any suggestions from others. Thanks.
