I want to get in touch with our group leader. but unfortunately she (and RS) has not made her email address accessible to group members. The only contact information we have been given for her is her phone number, which is in Europe. I don't think I should need to phone Europe to receive important information. In other words, I think this is a terrible policy.
Anyway, here's my question:
I've been following the weather in Switzerland during this past summer as well as this month - it's been horrible - cold, rain, thunderstorms, etc.
I want to know if our leader has a substitute plan for our group if the weather continues to be horrible. Please reply asap!

I'm on Delta #407 JFK-ZRH on 9/22. If anyone else is going on this flight I'd like to meet up at JFK or on the flight. Laura Stamm

Like Darlene Seegert, we would love to take this trip, but may not be up to walking/hiking wveryday. Can one just op-out of some of the hikes/walks?

John Uhlmann Feb 09, 2014 at 08:47 PM

Can't wait to go on this trip.
I skied both Wengen and Zermatt. Now I'm ready to see the mountains without snow. Any skiers or birders in the group.

Hoping Donna from Brick, NJ (or anyone else who attended the July or Aug. 12th trip will answer my questions. I'm considering doing this same trip but in August of 2014. I'm 71 and have some knee problems but badly want to go on this trip. I'd like to know how difficult and how long are the hikes for the group of people who want less strenuous hikes (assuming you split into groups the 2nd week)? Do they allow stops to rest along the way? Was there anyone on the trip who had knee problems and how did they fare? Also would like to know just how warm it was during those August weeks and were high temps a problem? Did rainy days create a problem? Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks very much.

I know someone who went on this trip and it is quite challenging. If you have a bad knee, you might want to consider a less active trip for the sake of yourself and the other hikers who may wish to keep up the specified pace.

This is my first Road Scholar trip. I'll be leaving from Boston. Any others?
