I returned from this trip last Friday....my first tour with RS. The tour was beyond excellent. Waleed was the best guide RS could ever find to lead such a group. Women, have a cover for your head and long sleeve tops (beyond the wrist) for touring mosques. Maybe a poncho for a rainy day...it did rain one day. binoculars helped me. (low optics for viewing inside mosques). I don't use a cane but found a tripod hiking stick helpful on some of the wadi walks. Wi-fi available mast places. Hotels were very good...no complaints at all. Hotel gyms were good if that is your thing.
Enjoy your tour. I certainly did. I am sold on RS.

We're going on the Mar 13 to 27 trip. Any knowledge base any of you have and would like to share would be helpful! Cell phone usage? WiFi availability? Clothing recommendations (beyond what's in the brochures)? anything else that would be helpful? R & A

I am going one day early See you there

My wife and I are going in February. We're going 3 days early to see more of Dubai. We have a 13 hour flight from Dulles to Dubai. We'll be breaking out the sleeping pills.
Roger Loeb May 29, 2013 at 06:37 PM

How was your trip? Was it worthwhile going three day early to Dubai?
Duane Elliott Jan 20, 2014 at 04:40 PM

I have just signed up for the March trip and wonder if any one else is going from NYCl I'm also curious to know who else is on the trip. It should be fascinating and fun and a change from winter weather. I am one of the few female Duane's.

Susan:
Are you willing to share your experiences on the Dubai Oman trip.

Susan Brunner Oct 28, 2012 at 12:22 PM

Since it's likely that East Coast flights will be suspended or delayed by several days due to the storm, does anyone know what Road Scholar advises with regard to the Dubai tour?
Andi Jackson Nov 04, 2012 at 11:24 PM

My understanding the program date is in Feb. Doubt any delays due to "Sandy"
Susan Brunner Nov 17, 2012 at 05:19 PM

Just returned from this program. Dates were Nov. 1-15.
Andi Jackson Nov 20, 2012 at 03:53 PM

Are you willing to share your experiences on this trip. I gave it a lot of thought & decided against it. Just wondering if I should reconsider.

Susan Brunner Aug 20, 2012 at 12:40 PM

I'm going and really looking forward to this trip!

This will be my first Road Scholar trip. It looks like an excellent blend of the "old" and the "new" in this fascinating area of the Middle East. At the end of our tour I am going back to Abu Dhabi to drive on the Formula I Yas Marina track (with an instructor, of course!). John Marr, Darien, Connecticut.
Andi Jackson Nov 04, 2012 at 11:24 PM

I am procrastinating about committing to Oman/Dubai program. It is a 16 hour flight San Francisco to Dubai.
